This is by far probably the biggest project I'll ever work on here at NGC…maybe.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you all...
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you all...
"The Joker's Wild: Million Dollar Tournament". This show will mark the end of the season for my Joker's Wild, and I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'm going to bring the show back after next year, so either way, might as well go out with a bang.
Considering how long each show takes, and considering the fact that each show takes at least a month on average, expect the tournament to not even start until sometime early next year (I want to start this early April at the absolute latest, like before my birthday type early, however considering how long each episode takes, I'm banking on this starting March 1), also I want this thing to be over and we declare a winner by mid December of next year.
The entire tournament is going to be split into 3 parts, which I'll go over now:
The winner, once all of this is over, will receive a $1,000,000 cash prize. There will be a “week’s” worth of shows where 6 contestants will test their luck against the game board for a chance to win cash and prizes. Winners will keep coming back, trying to work their way to the finals. Each episode of the tournament will be split into different “days”, which in reality are different games. Assume 1 match is 1 "day". There is also no Mystery Windows opening game for any of these matches. The player who advances to the next part of the tournament wins $10,000 cash. Also, singles = $200, doubles = $400, triples = $800.
Match 1:
The first 2 players will play in game one (by the way, once I get 6 players, their playing order will be decided by a drawing, similar to the ones done on "Wheel of Fortune"), and the LOSER of game 1 will play against the third player in game 2, while the WINNER advances to the semi-finals. Regular match as the one happening right now, except there's no bonus game after the show. Each game will consist of a best 2-out-of-3 round format (just think of the games I'm hosting now, done twice in one show, like the pilot), where the player who wins 2 rounds wins the game. The winner of games 1 and 2 advance to the semi-finals.
Match 2:
Same as match 1, except with 2 new players in the first half, and that winner playing against another player in the second half. The winner of game 2 advances to the semifinals. Winner of this match wins $10,000 in cash.
Match 3:
Starting with match 3, the format gets altered to the traditional format used on the actual show with elements of my current run being thrown in, and the match is still best two out of three. The winners of Match 1 get to go head-to-head in this match, and the winner of the match plays "Face the Devil" as on the actual show, but for $25,000 cash if the player makes $1,000.
Match 4:
Played exactly the same as match 3, but the winners of the second match playing.
Match 5:
The Finals. Whoever wins this game wins $1,000,000.
The winners of Matches 3 and 4 go head to head in a 3 round game. Unlike how in my current run each player gets one "point" for winning the game, the scores carry over into each new round, with the highest winner after the third round winning the tournament and $1,000,000. The runner up wins $25,000 and a new car on top of all of their winnings. Confetti is thrown, balloons are tossed, the crowd goes crazy and the tournament, and the series as we know it, will be over.
It's not much, but it's something. Of course I just came up with this and announced it all today, and we're nowhere near ready to start this thing, so it's very likely I'll be making some tweaks before this tournament goes live.
One more thing, I will take premature signups, so if you'd like a spot, send me a PM, but please note participation is very vital for this tournament, as it will take up most of next year, and who knows? Maybe it'll run into 2024, which is why I said this is my biggest project to this date, and even 1 person consistently missing a deadline, or not enough people signing up for the tournament in general will affect it.
That should cover pretty much everything, if you have questions please PM me, and I'll update you all as I try to piece the show together. With all of that said, let's have some fun! I hope you are one of the lucky 6 who choose to participate!
