According to my tracking, coupled with this: priceisright.fandom.com/wiki/Magic_Numberit would seem that Magic # will no longer be played on the show. I imagine the outdated electronics of the game (the game started I think in 1992 or 1993, so about 30 years ago), coupled with the fact that a player's indecision of moving the magic number up and down during game play which could lead to eating up a lot of air time, both factored into the game's retirement. And of course we won't be seeing Back to '72 anymore, as that was a limited edition pricing game, something that Drew made quite clear during season 50. O Good-bye Magic #.

I'll take a wait and see approach for now, because it seems the only source is from the wiki.

I knew one of those games would not be back for Season 51, because Drew said that game was going to be played in the landmark 50th season only (Back to '72 was a fun game with a cool concept that borrowed from Now...or Then, and I enjoyed every playing of it). On the other hand, Magic # has been a great game in its own right, but its one fatal flaw was that it could not be played first on any episode because its electronics took too long to boot up. I remember seeing it debut in 1992, and my favorite part was the sound effect that played when the contestants tried to adjust their magic number. Hopefully that sound can be incorporated into another new game, just like Penny Ante's has been revived for two games (first Vend-O-Price, and now To the Penny).

Many over on golden-road.net say it may not necessarily be permanent, that it may be on hiatus.
They gave several good examples of classic games that were out of the rotation for a good while, such as Check Game, Bargain Game and Card Game.

During season 50, you would think they would've brought back the older games for old times sake, like Super Ball and Hit Me.

I could see Back to '72 as a rebooted game. Same idea with a $50 drawing account but with three items from the here-and-now instead of half a century ago.
With Magic # at least sidelined, wouldn't be a bad idea to start producing a new game.
