On Monday, October 1st, 1962, the National Broadcasting Company debuted "The Tonight Show" starring Johnny Carson.
Mr. Carson would go on to host the show until Friday, May 22nd, 1992, an almost 30 year span of time.
To me it feels even more unreal that Johnny has not been the host now longer than he was the host.
Johnny also pretty much both set the mold and broke the mold regarding late night talk show formats.
I myself am an early to bed, early to rise kind of guy, so I no longer watch the late night talk show offerings, and from all I have seen and read about it, I am not missing anything.
I still will, on occasion, watch old Tonight Show reruns on Antenna TV with Johnny at the helm. He truly was, and always shall be, second to none.
