For the lead in the match, is it "JAILHOUSE"?  (win cue) You got it!!! Very well done with 4 letters only! Kevin, I thought perhaps when you asked for that "J", that might have given it to you..... Sometimes those wild cards end up benefiting the other player... As you did successfully solve two words Kevin, you've won $100 thus far. And it is a best two out of three game match.  We're going to take a time out and reset our game board, load in five brand new puzzles... Game 2 of this match when we return to... Just Say The Word!  |

I've added a poll question regarding this game.
In addition to our two contestants, any of you who are watching are invited to participate in answering the poll question.
I have made some "spiced up" changes for game 2 of the match, and I will explain them when they come up.
Your feedback is both valued and deeply appreciated by me.
Lastly, a shout out to Nels. He sent me a PM yesterday and was able to figure out the last word was JAILHOUSE.

O Welcome back to "Just Say The Word"! We're about to start game #2 and we're making some changes to our game play. I'll explain more as we go along. As before, we'll be playing a total of 5 words, the first one 5 letters long. And as before, all of our words contain different letters, no repeats. No plural words and no proper nouns. This time however, we'll ALWAYS be using a board with 14 boxes. In addition to the letters, the three stoppers and the wild card, we have added in various bonus cards as well. Any time either player selects certain bonus cards, a letter will be placed in the word at random. Also, all bonus cards plus the Wild Card will freeze the pot, so no points will be deducted from the pot. Speaking of, one bonus card that will be available during the first four words is the "FREEZE POT" card. If that is selected, the pot will remain frozen for the remainder of that word, and one free random letter will be placed in the word, and the player will get to guess. One other change, should either player attempt to solve a word before a new letter is placed, and should said attempt prove to be incorrect, control goes back over to the other player and one free letter is placed at random for the other player, and the pot will remain frozen, so that's now the penalty/risk one takes if they try to solve the word without a new letter being placed first.  Our first word, as always, is a 15 point word. In this first word, one bonus card is a Plus 10 point card, which will add 10 to the pot and place one free letter at random. Kevin, as you are trailing one game to none in the match, you get to go first. |

 There's one of those bonus cards! We will freeze the pot, so this word will be worth at least 15 points minimum. I say that because there is an add 10 points card up there somewhere too. Meantime, courtesy of random.org, we will now place one of the letters in the word for you at random Kevin, and we'll also take the corresponding number of said letter out of play...  Third letter this time, it's an "L" and Kevin, you have until 5:55pm EST on Wednesday, October 12th to Just Say The Word! |

Is it MELTS?  (gurgle buzzer) No, but a very good try. And while MELTS would be considered a plural word if referring to a sandwich, such as tuna melts, as a verb, it is fine and could have been the answer for our game. Just so happened it wasn't this time. But another excellent try! Kevin, the board is yous again. Wild card still in play as are those 3 stoppers. You may either venture a guess or select a number. |

For the early lead for Kevin, is the word RELAY?  (Wordplay chimes) Yes indeed! It could have been something else, but Kevin, you chose the right word!  We have a brand new word and a brand new board. A six letter word this time. Shederick, you will select first in just a moment.  But first, for every six letter word we play from now on, this will be designated as our "JACKPOT WORD"...  This time, one of the bonus cards on our board says "JACKPOT". If one of our players selects it, a random letter will be placed in the word and they will capture the "JACKPOT" card. If the player who is holding that card solves the word at any point, not only will they have points added to their score, but they will win a $500 cash bonus. Each time the Jackpot goes unclaimed, it will increase by $250 until it IS won. Shederick the board is yours. And as per the vacation thread, you mentioned you will be 'in and out" during this weekend, you will be playing on an "untimed down" system until Monday. Which number looks good to you Lieutenant? |

The number 9 sitting down.... 6 has...  WOW! For the second word in a row, the Freeze the Pot card was hit immediately! So this word will be worth 21 points! And this too also means random.org will place one of the 6 letters of this word, at random.....  The second letter of the word, and it is an "R". The "natrual" R was behind #3 so we take that out of play. Shederick, you are on an "untimed" down. For 21 points and the lead, Just Say The Word! |

Twelve is...  An insurance marker! Kevin, that marker may only be used during this current word, and cannot be carried over into subsequent words. It also means that if you select a stopper during this word, you'll automatically get to select another number without losing your turn. As this is a bonus card, we will again place one letter randomly in the word for you...  The N was placed, last letter in the word. The natrual N was under number 11.
