Rules for "JUST SAY THE WORD" (Loosely based on NBC's "Scrabble")
"Just Say The Word" is a word game played for cash.
MAIN GAME RULES:
Each of the first two games of a match will consist of a total of five words being played, one at a time.
For each word to be solved, none of the letters will ever repeat.
So while the word "SOLVED" could be a possible answer, the word "REPEAT" could not.
The answer to any given word will NEVER be a proper name, nor will it ever be a PLURAL word, only singular.
The first word to be solved will be 5 letters long.
Each word after that will be one letter longer, meaning 6, 7, 8 and finally 9.
A board will contain cards with all of the letters in the word, one "Wild" card, and 3 stoppers.
After one player selects, if they select a stopper, their turn ends and they do not get to try to solve the word.
If a player selects a letter card, then that letter will be placed in the word and the player gets one chance to guess, without penalty.
If the player selects the Wild card, they will get to choose which one of the unrevealed letters to be revealed.
Again after a letter is placed, the player gets one free guess without penalty.
If a player either passes, or is unable to solve the word, control then goes to the other player.
The other player will have the option to either select another card from the board, or to offer a guess at the word.
If a player makes an INCORRECT guess at a word without placing a new letter in the word, not only will they lose their turn, but they will have points
deducted from their total score. A player could lose 1, 2 or 3 points off of their total score. This will be determined at random.
Each word will have hidden numbers assigned randomly to each of the spaces in the word.
The five letter word will have 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 for a total of 15 points.
The six letter word will have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 for a total of 21 points, and so on.
The nine letter word will still have the numbers 1-9 randomly assigned, however the final word is worth DOUBLE points.
The player with the higher point total after the 5th and final word is played will receive $25 per point scored.
The player with the lower point total will still receive $50 for each word they solved.
If each player wins one game, then a one word sudden death playoff word is played.
It will be a 7 letter word. If one player solves it correctly, they will win the match.
If one player gives an INCORRECT answer, the other player will win the match by default, since it is a sudden death situation.
BONUS GAME RULES:
Played like the main game, using two 5, two 6 and one 7 letter word.
Each board will have the letters of the word, 3 stoppers, 1 Wild card, and 1 insurance card.
If a player hits the 3rd stopper, the bonus game ends and all bonus winnings are lost.
However, if the player has the insurance card, they can use it to continue the game, but will only get to select one more letter, then they must
solve the word. Doing so continues the bonus game, failing to solve it ends the round and all bonus winnings are lost.
For the first bonus word, any remaining points will be worth $50 each.
For the second bonus word, any remaining points will be worth $100 each.
For the third bonus word, any remaining points will be worth $150 each.
For the fourth bonus word, any remaining points will be worth $200 each.
For the final word (7 letter word), no insurance card will be in play, but solving that word will pay $250 per remaining point.
If a player is in danger of hitting a third stopper, they will have the option to stop the game and keep any cash they already have.
