Hello all,
First I wanted to say that I am still checking out the boards and the threads, a.k.a. "lurking". I know I am still active as a panelist on Match Game Hollywood Squares Hours, but will be vacating the center square at the conclusion of the current episode.
Second, the only other net game related post I plan on doing is when I "officially" pass the Three on a Match torch hosting duties to my long time online pal and respected hosting colleague Doug Morris. I know the game will be in excellent hands, especially in viewing the nice updates to the game board, and the new additions he plans on adding.
Other than those two things, I will no longer be participating as an emcee, panelist, contestant, or contributor in any other way, shape or form.
I first discovered online hosting in the summer of 2007 and was overjoyed to find others who loved it so.
Sadly, due to both personal matters in my real life/family life/work life, and just general matters of the country and our world at large, coupled perhaps with starting the trip into my golden years of life, I simply have been completely lacking in the drive, the spark, the energy and the passion of hosting or participating in online game shows. I had hoped against hope with time passing that I might get some of that spark or that zeal back, but alas, it is simply not coming back to me.
During our 30th wedding anniversary, my wife and I were stuck at home to "celebrate" it while I was experiencing Covid-19.
This past anniversary, we were able to go out, only to have my wife's leg give out when we got home. She has been improving quite nicely and still is doing physical therapy twice a week.
As for me, I had an issue with my big toe on my left foot. What appeared to be a bruise turned out instead to be a blister. Having had that debrided, and thus requiring the nail to be cut far back, I've been rather gimpy on it for a few weeks, but it is improving somewhat. I am experiencing other leg and ankle issues off and on as well, and will be returning to my podiatrist come the end of July for a follow up and a consult.
Recently I had been experiencing some right eye pain whenever I looked into bright lights or if it was bright outdoors. Turns out I had an inflammation. Thankfully some steroidal eye drops helped clear that up in a jiffy, and the eye is feeling better.
I went back a week or so ago for my regular exam, as my last one had been well over 3 years ago. Turns out I have a posterior cataract in my right eye. Right now we're leaving it go as it's not affecting me too too badly, but will do a follow up next year. No doubt eventually surgery will be needed. The good news was the eye doctor did not see anything wrong with my eyes with respect to diabetes, so that was a rather huge relief.
Had another car repair done, as it's a 2006 Kia. I basically only drive to work and home, and to doctor appointments. With gas now approaching the $5 a gallon mark, well over double what it was just 2 short years ago, any pleasure driving I once enjoyed doing with my son has had to stop.
In addition to our bed having to be replaced in January 2022, $1,2000, our hot water heater being replaced in February of this year, $2,800, and our refrigerator needing to be replaced in March, $800, last week our washing machine of just 6 years died on us, so that will be another $600 to $800 financial setback for us coming up in the not too distant future. Meantime, we've been taking our clothes to the laundromat to wash, but still bringing them back home again to use in our dryer.
As challenging as 2021 proved to be for me personally, 2022 is proving to be even more so. I am biding my time but I have little to no doubt that before too much longer, I will need to get a second job, part time. With the record-breaking runaway inflation that has been taking place in recent months, with seemingly NO END in sight, coupled with escalating fuel prices, I am sadly no longer afforded neither the time nor the energy to devote to what used to be a really fun and stress reducing hobby.
I will be checking the boards for the current MG/HS Hour, and again also to be there when Doug takes over "Three on a Match".
Once more, should any of you wish to keep in touch or stay in touch, and I thank the few of you folks who have done so already, you can shoot me an e-mail at:

I appreciate all the warmth, all the camaraderie , respect and fun we have been able to share lo these many years. Keep on keeping on with the games please! And may none of you end up in the "runk" that I ended up in. Runk is a word I made up, as it's a combination of rut and funk.
Best to you always, and God Bless...
