Of course, if it's an Ace, it's an instant winner. Lynn, what card did Kevin keep? (audience "Woahs!" and applauds) I do believe that is the first time we've had 3 face cards in a row to begin a match. Freezing Kevin?

Very good. That protects your position Kevin. Michael, a 21 is what you need. 20 won't win as there are no ties on Gambit. To continue winning money and drawing cards, you must continue to give correct answers. If you give an incorrect answer, or if your time runs out (48 hours) before you answer the question, Game 1 of this best 2 out of 3 match will belong to Kevin. Let's have a look at the question board as we add a new question to it... www.qwizx.com/gssfx/usa/tpirding.wavWhich question do you select Michael, top or bottom?

Right you are for $100! (applause) Lynn, our champion is looking for an Ace to win game #1.... (audience reacts "WHOAAAH!!!") Wow! FOUR face cards in a row?!?! Incredible. We have something that my eyes have not been in over 35 years....namely 20 20. No ties though Michael, you have to beat Kevin's 20, so you need one more correct answer, followed by an Ace... New question loaded in, which one do you want Michael?

Right for another $100! (applause) And yes indeedy, an Ace and ONLY an Ace will win for you, anything else will put you over champ. Lynn, how about it? picosong.com/fTwB/Too much! And the game goes to Kevin!!! picosong.com/3zeF/(applause) Kevin, congratulations on winning game 1 of this match. $1,000 for a winning score of 20, plus the $200 you won on the toss-up questions, plus the camera package worth $575, a total in cash and prizes of $1,775, and that could very well just be the beginning. We'll take a time out, and when we return, Kevin will be playing one hand against Lynn, to try to Beat the Dealer for a $2,500 bonus, right after this!

(applause) About to play "Beat the Dealer" with our game 1 winner Kevin, but before we do, I just want to remind you that if you love Gambit, you can watch my good friend Tony Lane hosting the morning edition of Gambit, and if you can't get enough of card games, you can also see Tony hosting a new season of Card Sharks as well. Also, a reminder to watch Greg Palmer and his sidekick Wally as Greg presides over his Net Game Award nominated "On A Roll", a fun, challenging and exciting game that you can play along with as well, all right here on CBS Daytime!! (applause) But now back to the P.M. version of Gambit. Kevin, we've had a string of wins in this game, and only once has it been lost! You are about to play one hand of Blackjack against our lovely dealer Lynn. The remaining cards in the same deck we played game number one with are still in play. Lynn will begin dealing you cards to form your hand. Once you reach a score of twelve or higher, I will ask you if you wish to freeze or continue. If you continue and the next card you draw puts you over 21, you lose. If the next card you draw gives you exactly 21, then you will win the Beat the Dealer jackpot which tonight is worth… (CLANG) Two-thousand five-hundred dollars! If the jackpot is not won, we will add $500 to it for our next program. Once you freeze, Lynn will begin to draw cards to form her hand. Lynn must hit on any hand totalling 16 and below. Lynn must freeze on any hand totalling 17 and above. In the event you and Lynn should tie, you won't win the jackpot, but you will still receive one-thousand dollars, and the jackpot will still grow by $500 for our next program. Kevin, good luck as you try to Beat the Dealer! Lynn, what is Kevin's first card please? A 6 of Clubs, none too surprising after we had a long string of 10 valued cards played in game 1. Next card for Kevin please? (audience ooohs) Michael, there's that Ace you were hoping for... Kevin, you cannot go over if you draw another card, but I'll leave it up to you, do you want to freeze and call that 17, or take another card and see if you can perhaps improve upon that score?

That protects your position Kevin, and keeps your opponent away from his cards.... No wait, I'm mixing up Gambit with Card Sharks! Lynn, time to deal up your hand, and we have to hope she goes over 21, as that's the only way you can win Kevin... Wow, the face cards are coming fast and furious tonight! Hope the next card is a 6 or less... No! picosong.com/fTwB/(audience groans) Well, sad to say, but I reckon we were overdue for a loss in this game. Just the second time in 10 shows. Very sorry about that Kevin, however, you still have $1,775 in cash and prizes and the lead in the match. We'll take a quick time out, clear the board, and set up for pivotal game number 2, right after these words!
