THE U.S.F.L. is NEW NOO GNU KNEW NUU!!!!!!!!!! 1983, the year that gave us Jim Perry's "$ale of the Century", the introduction of the Whammy on "Press Your Luck", and the debut of Plinko, was the inaugural year of the United States Football League. This was a league that played its games in the spring and summer. It lasted only three seasons, folded after the 1985 season, and in an anti-trust lawsuit against the N.F.L., won a total of $3.00. There were 12 franchises in the first USFL Season, 18 during the 1984 season. 8 of those 18 teams are back, representing the same cities/locales as they did in 1983, and all 8 still have their team nicknames as well! This will be a ten game season from April until June. Two divisions (North & South). New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh & Michigan in the North, Birmingham, Tampa Bay, Houston and New Orleans in the South. The USFL is NEW NOO GNU KNEW NUU!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a bit excited about it Bill. We've seen a bunch of upstart leagues in the past couple of years. I had high hopes for the AAF and was upset when they folded. I was into the new XFL too but Covid is responsible for that flop. They will be coming back though. I think they have real executives who know football behind the new USFL. I think it might work. I also saw that they're planning on playing in a "bubble" and having all the games in the Birmingham area. That could be good to prevent Covid hitting the players.
