Hello and welcome back to Talk About. For this episode, we are going to try something a little different.



Before we began, I want to say thanks again Bill and Immanuel for being patience with me while I change up the rules.



I really like hosting this game and I did not want to see it cancel.. I would like to keep this going for a very long time... Hopefully, you will like the changes.



The rules will be the same as before but with a few changes



1) This will be head to head!



2) For the main game each player will now be allowed to give me 6 sentences with no more than 6 words in each sentence.



3) 20 points wins the game



4) Winner will now receive $ 1,000!!!!

Immanuel since you were the captain from last time, you will start first.. I will PM you two topics, and then you will reply to my PM with your topic and your answers. I will then post the answers that were not said in the forums. Bill will then give his answer.. If Bill is right, he will steal the points from Immanuel. They have rebooted Match Game several times.. I am not sure how the current MG is doing in the ratings but I have not seen it.

Bill and Immanuel while we are taking a small break, I would like to hear your thoughts on MG 70s version. 



My thoughts:  Richard Dawson cared about the players. He wanted the players to win.. According to other post that I have read, I believed they introduced the star wheel because they were picking RD most of the time.  I believe everyone was happy other then RD when they came up with the star wheel... Once Richard left the show it was not the same!!!!

On  the very first episode of the star wheel when the player spin the wheel, it landed on RD..   Every one left (Including RD) but one or two stars. but they came back to finish the game..  I don't know if they were trying to be funny or they were upset..  On RD last episode, the star wheel did not landed on RD..  IMO, it would have nice if it landed on him.

Once the show lost Dawson, it was never the same, I agree.

Really they lost him twice.

The first time was when he became host of Family Feud.  I think slowly and over time he become much less enamored being a guest panelist on Match Game.

Adding insult to injury was the Star Wheel.  While I didn't mind the Star Wheel, I did mind that it was made to slight Richard playing the head-to-head match as often and as such, potentially costing contestants thousands of dollars.  

As far as the walk out during the first time it was ever used, that was just the stars playing around.  It was ironic that it landed on Richard the first time.

Two other gripes I had with the Star Wheel, one was when they reduced the star area from 5 gold stars to 3 separated gold stars, which made it far more difficult to land on a "double".

My other gripe was more often than not it seemed, the wheel stopped on the most boring celebrity on the panel.  I loved when it landed on Brett, Charles, Fannie, Betty, Patti Deutsch, Joyce Bulifant, but was boring when it would land on the star in the first position in the upper or lower tier, and that seemed to happen quite often.  One exception I remember was when it landed on Eva Gabor.  She actually won for the player too!

If they had had it from the very start, perhaps Richard would not have soured so much.

Match Game '90 with Ross Shafer had it too, but I didn't like that wheel as much as they spun the pointer around the wheel, while the wheel remained still.  Far less exciting watching a pointer going around than an actual wheel.

I remember when they reduced the area from 5 gold stars to 3 separated gold stars.. There was also one time when Richard was hosting FF, and he had just hosted a telethon and then went to MG. It was a question on horses I believe.. Richard wrote down his answer and the judges buzz him.. He told the judges I meant to write down the answer that the player said.. There were other times he had it in with the judges..

When they walked out the first time I figured it was them joking around about it

How did the writers missed that? I think they had chocolate on their minds when they wrote for the clues for this episode. At least it wasn't no frozen food items this time

When I was walking down the hall, I knew I smell chocolate in the writers room. The sad part is that they did not offer me any .
