The reason I'm posting this now is because I made a production error that affected the outcome of the 1996 episode. I unintentionally gave the winner, Michael, an advantage in Round 1 and didn't notice it until well after that round ended, so I'm inviting jmdarrall and mringgenberg back to play on this episode.
On to business, here are the changes this time around:
-No more returning champions. -The second Bankrupt is now removed if a round begins as a Speed-Up. -Any bad Final Spins I make will be "edited out".
I'm looking for one new player and for Matt and Jon to check in.

*'97 Intro*
Jim: From the Sony Pictures Studios, it's America's Game!
*drumroll*
Audience: WHEEL!...OF!...FORTUNE!
Jim: Ladies and gentlemen: Kevin Kolsen and Vanna White!
Me: Hey, all! Happy New Year again! I say that every show and we do this every show, too...
*Vanna walks to the puzzle board while I walk to the wheel*
Whoa! I almost ran into this thing, that's how big the wheel is. We're ready to kick off 1997 with Caribbean Day. We have some nice Caribbean-themed prizes on our show just waiting to be won. However, we have a couple of familiar faces in our contestant podiums. We had to invite two of our players back because of an error on our last show. One of those is jmdarrall in the red spot. Jon, we're winding towards the end of the school year. How has the test prep been going?

Going well, for the most part. Students are doing well, but I wish the classes at our area schools would do a little better.

I can tell. I have an office manager whose kids don't like the testing, particularly the common core. Let's now move onto Matt. He's our other player we're bringing back. How have things been on your end?

Thank you for that, it's a pleasure to have you back, too. Finally, we have a new face. His name is Leaf. Now, you're in college I believe. Tell me how that's going.

I'm actually not in school this semester, as my dad is battling cancer, however, after I complete my courses I plan to get my associate's degree in graphic design.

My word, I'm sorry to hear. Believe me, I know what that's like. My mom is a cancer survivor. Hope your dad pulls through and I wish you best of luck to you in your studies. A couple of things to look out for as we begin Wheel of fortune, first our wheel... And in front of you, you may have noticed we have no puzzle board. Our new one is behind a curtain and we'll show it to you right now... *drumroll followed by the '97 puzzle solve cue* There it is. We're now playing in the 22nd century. *laughter* So, without further ado, here is our first puzzle of 1997... *puzzle reveal chimes* Our monitors are hiding a Fictional Character for Round 1. Just before the show, we drew numbers to see who would start the game and Jon, it's going to be you. All the best!
