Today marks the official 245th anniversary of the United States of America. I can still remember 1976, the Bicentennial like it was only yesterday.
Today would have also marked my parents' 57th wedding anniversary. They were wed way back on Saturday, July 4th, 1964.
My Dad passed away just 11 days after their 14th wedding anniversary in 1978 at the age of 43. Mom left this world in June 2001.
While I always miss them, and while I feel very blessed to have had them for as long as I did, Independence Day proves a very bitter sweet holiday for me every year, for this as well as for other reasons which I won't get into here.
I hope all of my fellow Americans have had, and will continue to have an enjoyable and safe Independence Day holiday weekend. I feel very blessed to have a job that I truly love. Also very blessed to have off tomorrow with pay as well.
Best to you always,
Bill
