I just realized that it was during this very week back in 1974, specifically Friday, June 28th 1974, that NBC aired the final episode of "Three On A Match" with Bill Cullen.
On the following Monday, which was July 1st 1974, Bill Cullen was hosting a new word game called "Winning Streak" which did not last very long on NBC.
Also on July 1st of that year, Alex Trebek's first version of "High Rollers" debuted on the Peacock network.
August 2nd of this year will mark exactly 50 years to the day that the first "Three On A Match" episode aired. I hope to do something special for that for my online game.
