I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! NOBODY remembers the Rubble's pet 
49 views but only one guess, and a very good guess at that, incorrect though it was.
I made the comment to my Mrs. who recently purchased me some Pebbles cereal (Yes I'm in my mid 50s and still eat kiddy cereal!) and it was their 50th anniversary of being a cereal.
Fred, Barney, Wilma, Betty, Pebbles & Bamm-Bamm and Dino were ALL featured on the box. Even the Great Gazoo, Fred & Barney's alien friend who was voiced by the late, great, Harvey Korman was featured, but not the Rubble's pet.
Hoppy the Hoparoo was the Rubble's pet. He was like a kangaroo, and I presume Hoppy was male, even though he did have a pouch and often Pebbles & Bamm-Bamm would be in it while he was hopping around.
It seems that NOBODY remembers poor Hoppy, except meeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

Anyway, Hoppy was the answer to the trivia question.
