You are moving on, so there's absolutely no changes to the players' DOS hands.
DOS CARDS TOTAL:
SHEDERICK: 7
WILLIAM: 7
MATT: 7So, at the end of the Head-Start portion of this round, Shederick has 3 cards, while William and Matt have 7 cards each, according to their UNO Remix hands, and everyone still has their starting DOS hand.
SHEDERICK <-----> WILLIAM <-----> MATT
400 <-----> 100 <-----> 188
$1200 <-----> $150 <-----> $7230
Now we're about to get ready to start the main portion of the round, BUT! The turn order is going to be extended a little, and I'm going to show you how the turn goes. However, since this is the first time we're playing UNO Remix, let me explain how this game is played before I go to DOS.
UNO Remix plays like the Classic UNO, but there are some special Action Cards to make this game a little more cutthroat.
In this deck, there are
Plus cards, which acts like the Draw Two cards, but it represents a mark, which shows how many cards that player must draw.
Here, we have those special Remix Action cards.
First, we have the
WILD + NAME card, the
SKIP - TO card, and the
SHIELD + NAME card. These 3 cards allows you to write your name on them. The WILD + NAME is self-explanatory, but only the player whose name is on the card gets to choose the next color.
The SKIP - TO card skips directly to the player whose name is on the card.
The SHIELD + NAME card can be used to block a Penalty card, but be careful! If this card DOES NOT have your name on it, you may only block a penalty card of that particular color. So for example, if a Yellow Draw Two card is played on you, you may block it ONLY with a Yellow Shield Card. If the Shield card does have your name on it, you may block a Penalty card of ANY color. For example, a Green Draw Two is played on Jeff. Jeff then plays a Yellow "Jeff" Shield card to block it.
KEEP IN MIND! That in order to use a Shield card WITHOUT your name on it to block a Wild Draw Four card, the player who played that card must first call out the color that will continue play. After that, if you have a Shield card of that color, you may use it to block the Wild Draw Four card. After that, play continues in the current order from the player who played the Wild Draw Four initially.
These are the
WILD DRAW FOUR,
DRAW TWO + NAME, and
GIVING cards. These cards allows you to write the name of your opponent. The first two are self-explanatory, but take a look in the middle. There are two lines there, which I'll explain about that in a moment. Initially, there will be one name on the card should the player who won the last round gets it. If there are TWO names on the card, the player who laid down either the Draw Two or Draw Four card gets to choose which ONE of the 2 names to draw those cards. If the player who draws either two or four cards is NOT the next player in order, play STILL resumes with the next player in order (after the player who first laid down the Draw Two/Draw Four card(s)). Also, Wild Draw Four cards are still played the same way.
Also, regular Skip, Draw Two and Wild Draw Four cards are also inside the deck.
As for the Giving Card, if this card is
DRAWN, this card is immediately given to the player whose name is on the card. Also, this is the only card that CANNOT be blocked by a Shield. Period!
This is an
ADD A MARK card, and the player who picks that will get to choose any Plus colored cards from the deck and add one additional tally mark to that card, and that card will be immediately be placed back into the Remix Card box. This will NOT be thrown out!
These are the (and I'm not kidding, this is the actual name)
ADD A NAME TO DRAW FOUR/DRAW TWO cards. The player will get to pick any one Draw Two or Draw Four card and add a second name, and these cards will be immediately be placed back into the Remix Card box. These will NOT be thrown out!
With these cards, it makes this round a little more cutthroat, but it's the winner from the last round that gets the advantage. Since we have 3 players, the winner from the last round, in this case, it's Matt, gets to choose 3 of the 52 Remix cards that were NOT shuffled at random, and followed it's proper instructions. If necessary, he will then give one Remix Action card to one of his opponents. If any "ADD" card was chosen, that player would immediately follow those instructions for his benefit and they will be placed back inside the box, and will be awarded with extra points and cash.
Finally, that player will then make 3 separate cuts to the deck to make things fair. Other than that, the rules of Classic UNO applies.
And now, how DOS is played.
Like UNO, in DOS, you have to discard your cards by matching the cards in the center, but here in DOS, you can only match them
by number. The numbers need to be matched first, then only the color is noted. Colors only earn a bonus called a
Color Match Bonus, which I'll explain in a moment.
Let's talk about the deck. Like UNO, there are 108 cards, but this time, the cards consists 96 numbered color cards (Red/Blue/Green/Yellow) and 12 Wild DOS cards. Each color has three cards of the numbers 1, 3, 4, 5, and two cards of the numbers 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. There are also two Wild # cards for each of the four colors. Notice that there is no number 2 card for each color, but instead, the 2s have been replaced by Wild Dos cards as we will see below.
In DOS, there will be AT LEAST two cards in the play field area, like this:
[CARD 1] | [CARD 2] | DRAW PILE: 108 |
[-----] | [-----] | CARDS DISCARDED: 0 |
[-----] | [-----] | BONUSES: 0 |
Now, a card in your hand that matches the number of a card in the top row can be played onto the card in the middle, or two cards that when added together equal the number of a card in the top row can be played onto that card in the top row. So for example, if there's a Green 7 on the Top Row, you can match it in two ways:
1. Play any color that has a 7
2. Play 2 cards that ADD UP to 7. Simply math! (3 + 4 = 7)
Now keep in mind, that you can only play up to TWO cards for each card on the top row, hence the two blanks further down the column. If there are 4 cards in the Center Row, you can match cards to ALL four of them as long as you have matching cards in your hand, but only a maximum of two per Top Row card.
Once the cards are matched, they will be discarded immediately, and our dealer Mari will then pick the next cards from the top of the Draw Pile to replace the cards that just got matched in the Top Row.
Here in DOS, there are 2 Special Cards, and they are:
First in the middle is the
WILD DOS card. The number 2 cards in DOS are represented by these Wild cards, which can take up any color as the player (whose current turn it is to play) sees fit. If a Wild DOS card is turned up from the Draw pile, the player whose turn it is to play can decide what color it should be. In this round, the producers have determined the number of Wild DOS cards in this round. Tonight, there are
5 Wild DOS cards in the deck out of 12, meaning there are 101 cards total.
The second special card is the
# card. Some say hashtag, others say pound key, and I say the number sign. The Wild # card can represent any number for its own particular color. This can be used to make up any number from 1-10, as the player (whose current turn it is to play) sees fit. If a Wild # card is turned up from the Draw pile, the player whose turn it is to play can decide what number it should be.
In the event that you can have no cards to match, you must draw a card from the Draw pile. If you can match it, you can choose to do so. However, even if you cannot match it, you must still discard a card from your hand by placing it in the Top Row.
So when it's your turn, you MUST go in this order...
TURN ORDER:1. PLAY ONE UNO REMIX CARD
2. IF NECESSARY, DRAW ONE UNO REMIX CARD
3. PLAY THAT CARD OR PASS
4. MATCH TOP ROW DOS CARDS
5. IF NECESSARY, DRAW ONE DOS CARD
6. PLAY THAT CARD OR ADD ONE DOS CARD ON TOP ROW
WARNING! IF YOU ARE SKIPPED OR FORCED TO DRAW CARDS, YOUR TURN ENDS!!!Notice in Red Letters that in UNO Remix, if you are the next one in line, and you are Skipped or if you're forced to draw cards, your turn will end right then and there, so there's some strategy for you all to consider.

These will come into effect the moment one of you finishes your hand either in UNO Remix or in DOS. When that happens, that game will be done and gameplay moves over to the other game.
In the event that time runs out, depending on the game(s) that are still in play, whichever player has the least amount of cards in their hand from that game will be awarded with 100 points, along with the additional points from his own hand, but the total will then be deducted from each of the opponents' hands, and the winner wins the remaining points and 100 times that total in cash.
I can tell you right now that Matt got the advantage by choosing 3 Remix Action cards during the break, and two of them were "Add A Mark" cards, so....
SHEDERICK <-----> WILLIAM <-----> MATT
400 <-----> 100 <-----> 208
$1200 <-----> $150 <-----> $7430
Matt got an additional 20 points and $200 cash for those cards, which means that there's one additional Remix Action card either in the deck or has been already dealt out.
Now with all of that explained, I have one more question for you all, and this one is for control. Here are the choices...
Hackers
Used Car Salesmen
Air Traffic Controllers
RecyclersAnd the question is this...
What did John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton play in "Pushing Tin"?Shederick: 3
William: 100
Matt: 86
Magic #: 23
(Buzz-In!)And Shederick buzzes in! What's your answer?
