Greeting, all. We're about to start the 11th episode of Crag: The Numbers Game. This and the next episode involve returning players we owe rematches to -- due to various circumstances.
Matt Johnson (mjyr1) returns with two wins and $76,400. Marc Enyedy (marc412) returns with one win and $10,500. The winner of the match play against Jonathan Darrall (jmdarrall), who won $3500 in his previous match.
In the interest of moving matters forward, should Matt or Marc the first two games of the match -- and thus meet or exceed the $5000 goal before we even need a third game -- we'll at least get a head start on the next match with Jonathan playing the winner; said next match will be completed on the next episode.
To all who'd want to play, thanks for your patience. We'd make these accomodations to you if you were affected like Matt or Jonathan.
Matt and Marc, please hop on this thread and we'll start. Jonathan, if someone wins the match in a sweep, I'll let ya know.

OK, we've tried contacting Matt Johnson to no avail. We'll make room for him in Episode 12. Meantime, we invite Jonathan Darrall to come on -- uh -- up.
Jonathan, please hop on this thread and then PM me ten buzz codes.
(Note for Game 1 only: Marc's already PM me his buzz codes. In case of a tie for distance, Marc would have an unfair advantage. When a tie's discovered, the players will be asked to repick buzz codes when we reach the affected question and then proceed forward from there.)

Thanks all. Game 1 starts after station identification.
Announcer: WBFL, the one to watch in Western New York. (Doug drives around Southern California in a Ferrari F12berlinetta as "I Love L.A." by Randy Newman plays in the background)(Doug then parks the car in the parking lot outside The Bill Cullen Studio in Rancho Cucamonga; Doug gets out of the car and addresses the viewing audience) Man, this Ferrari is amazing. It's not mine. I'm just taking it out for a test drive. This car could belong to one of this week's player. Find out how as we play Crag: The Numbers Game. Come on in. (Doug runs for the entrance to the studio) (fade to inside the studio, where the lights are gradually turned on)
(audience cheers)(Doug walks up to his podium) Helloooo, everybody, I'm Doug Morris and this is where 13 can be your lucky number -- and one of this week's contestants could drive home in that new Ferrari worth more than $330,000. (audience cheers)And it could belong to one of our returning players. Let's welcome back Marc Enyedy and Jonathan Darrall. (audience cheers)Marc won $10,500 and an exciting match on the last show -- but a mishap late in the match may have unfairly cost Jonathan the match. So we're having the rematch now. Matt pocketed $3500 for his efforts the last time out. And, yes, the door is still open for Matt Johnson to come back. We owe him more than $70,000 in cash after all -- and he hasn't lost a match. Matt, again, we're sorry we're having to start without you. Please give us a buzz and we'll get you back in the loop soon. (ding)Marc and Jonathan, as for you, you know how to play -- so we're going to start Game 1 of a new match. We start with a single digit question. That means the right answer is a number between 1 and 6 inclusive. (Doug scans card and giggles) Considering I spent the weekend cruising around the L.A. area in that Ferrari, this question's a logical start to the match. Anyhoo, hands on the buzzers, please, and away we go. Single digit question: California borders Mexico and how many U.S. states? 60 marc412 36 jmdarrall 25 randomizer.org(Jonathan buzzes in)Jonathan?

Jonathan says 3 states. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Cali borders Oregon, Nevada and Arizona. Jonathan, Marc, you know the scoring combinations worth 20 or more on the show. For those tuning into our show for the first time, here's a quick review. There are four different straights worth 20 points each in Crag. The numbers 1-2-3 make a low straight; 4-5-6 a high straight; 1-3-5 an odd straight and 2-4-6 an even straight. Doesn't matter how you roll those numbers on the board -- just as long as they're all different and they're all low, high, odd or even. Anytime you roll three of the same number, that's a triple for 25 points. And as we always say around here, 13 is a lucky number in Crag. Anytime the dice total 13, we'll double the sum for 26 points. *But* if you have a pair of numbers and an odd number total 13 on the board, that's a Crag -- and it's worth 50 big points. (audience cheers)Whenever you win a question on our show, like Jonathan just did, you get two rolls of the dice. And, Jonathan, here comes the first of your two rolls. (rolling sfx)Those big Crag dice are rolling. Stop them one at a time with your buzzer, please.

(ding)Stop on a 2. (ding)Stop on a 6. (ding)Annnd stop on a 3. Not one of the combinations worth 20 or more. Jonathan, this means you may end the round right now and take the sum of the dice in points -- 11 in this case -- or you may freeze up to two of the numbers and reroll the rest. How do you play it?

All right, we'll freeze the 6, first. (freeze sfx) That dice screen will not reroll. The outer dice, however, will roll. (rolling sfx)And Jonathan, as before, stop the others one at a time, please. (ding)There's a 6. (scattered cheers) (ding) (audience cheers)And a third 6. That completes a triple. Jonathan, you just picked up 25 points. Now, that the round is over, fellers, please clear the board... ...thank you, because I don't want anyone thinking we're in beast mode all of a sudden. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Remember, there are two ways to win a game -- be the first to score 100 points or have the higher point total after ten completed rounds. Winner of the game picks up $2500 while the runner-up picks up $500. We also award $1000 to the first player to roll a Crag in the match. First player to reach $5000 wins the match and the right to play the Super Crag -- where more than $1,000,000 can be won. (audience cheers)Round 2 is starting now with a question about a famous pair. Single digit question: In one of Penn & Teller's long running magic tricks, which card from the suit of clubs is the most likely answer to the question, "Is this your card?" 04 marc412 45 jmdarrall 76 randomizer.org(Jonathan buzzes in)Jonathan?

(buzz buzz)No decision in time. I'm afraid the round ends here -- with us award a dozen points to Jonathan. After Round 2: marc412 jmdarrall
Jonathan leads 37 to nothing as we go to a missing digit question. Marc and Jonathan know how these work. For those who don't, here's a sample. (ding)On the board, we have the number of "Shades of Grey" -- according to a the title of a steamy novel and movie. All you have to do is chime in and tell me the missing digit -- represented by the question mark. And in this case... (ding)...it's a 5 for "Fifty Shades of Grey". Now, we clear the board and play the intended question for this third round. Missing digit question: I'll show you the year the Erie Canal opened -- and you tell me the missing digit.(ding)34 marc412 55 jmdarrall 55 randomizer.org(Jonathan buzzes in)Jonathan?

He says 2 is the missing digit. Did the Erie Canal open in 1825? (ding; audience applause)Yes. Jonathan, chance to pad your lead comes now. (rolling sfx)There they go. (ding)There's a 3. (ding)There's another 3. (ding)And there's a 6. Close again to the lucky 13 -- close to the triple. Jonathan, want 12 or another try?

Taking another 12 -- and look at what that does to the score. Jonathan nears the halfway point to winning the first game of the match. Marc, I see you trying to buzz in. Let's see if you break through with Round 4 -- as we fill in the blank. (MG '7x stinger plays) (audience applause) And before we start this round, a special shout out to Tony Lane and Cameron Shields who are bringing back the Match Game - Hollywood Squares Hour. (audience cheers) I was part of MG-HSH on another network for nearly a decade and a half. Also, Hunter Dillon is working on a stand-along Match Game. Anytime any of you need a semi-retired host to be on your panel -- (does "call me" hand signal while mouthing the words "call me"). (audience laughs and applauds)With that out of the way, let's fill *this* blank in our game. Fill in the blank in the name of this rock band with a single digit number. Gettin' 'em in 12s and 25s. After Round 4: marc412 jmdarrall
Jonathan needs any combination of 13 to automatically win the first game of this match. Marc's still looking to get on the board. Round 5 starting now with this. We'll take that as a "4". Did David Kunst complete his walk around the world in '74? (ding; audience applause)He sure did -- 1974. Marc, you're going to get on the board... (rolling sfx)... a Crag will put you right back in the thick of this. Let's see what happens. (ding)Starting with a 4. (ding)There's a 6. (ding)And there's a 1. Dice total 11 points. Jonathan has 74 right now -- and we're in Round 5. How do you play it?

Rerolling the outer dice. Very well. We freeze the 6 first. (freeze sfx) (rolling sfx)And away go the other dice. (ding)There's a 4 again. (ding) (scattered groans) And another 1. At least you broke even. After Round 5: marc412 jmdarrall
