Merry Christmas!
Given how events have unfolded, especially over the past ten or so months, it has been increasingly difficult for it to feel like Christmas for a great many of us I am sure.
This is the first time in over 40 plus years that I will remain home with just my wife and son. We won't be spending any time with any family members.
But in deep and spiritual reflection, I came to realize and recognize that first Christmas so long ago was no picnic either.
I also recognize that there are oh so many who are far more alone and lonely, from homeless people to one of my dear co-workers who is a widower and lives alone. He prefers to spend Christmas alone as he is still very much in mourning.
While we do not know what the future will bring or what it has in store for us, and while we have cherished memories of loved ones who are no longer with us here on Earth, or not being able to be with loved ones who due to restrictions or other circumstances this Christmas, I call to mind this saying...
Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift, that is why we call it the present.
I wish to everyone who observes or celebrates it, a very Merry Christmas.
