Comedian Norm Crosby passed away from heart failure at the ripe old age of 93.

I had vague memories of him. I thought he might have appeared on some Match Game episodes and I'm almost certain that he was a staple on the MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon for many years.
A rarity for 2 celebs to die on the same day.
May 16, 1990 both Jim Henson of Muppet fame and Sammy Davis Jr. died.
And on July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, 3rd President Thomas Jefferson, its author, passed away, and a few hours later on the same day, John Adams, our 2nd President and who was also very instrumental with the Declaration of Independence, died as well.
