All,
I'm going to showcase a potential new end game for my upcoming Gambit series.
Nels had requested in my Six-Ball thread to try that game out. Since I decided not to go with that game, I indicated to him on that thread that he would get first crack at this new bonus game.
I will explain as we go along how it works.
First however Nels, I will present to you now a freshly shuffled deck of 52 playing cards. At this time I would ask that you please cut them.
Indicate how deep you wish to cut them by giving me a number higher than 0 but lower than 52.
The rest of the game will resume probably this evening, as after work today I am going to spend a couple of hours visiting with someone.

Now that the cards have been cut, let me explain what is going to happen here. Using this Gambit Board, we are going to determine dollar values for each of your first four hands of 21. The first hand can be worth anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 depending on what number you select, as various cash awards from one to two thousand dollars are scattered and hidden on our board. Also there are two "SWAP" cards, and you can swap out one cash award if you wish to try to get a higher one. In addition to the Swap cards, there is one power chip on the board. Power chips can only be used when you receive a card that puts you over 21. We give you 2 Power Chips automatically to begin with. If you go over 21 you get $0 for the hand. After you select a number, we will show you the first card. You have the option to keep it or to give it away to the house. After that, strategy, intuition and luck will all play a part for you as you will then elect to keep the next card, which we won't show you, or give it to the house. Once the house reaches 17 or more, it cannot receive any more cards. You will keep drawing cards until your score ties the house, beats the house or if you go over 21. Again if you go over 21, you get no money in your bankroll for that specific hand. If your hand ties the house, we will pay you half the value of the cash award. If your hand beats the house or if you put the house over 21, you will win the entire cash award. And finally, if you get 21 in any combination, we will pay you double the cash award you selected Nels. And we will do that even if both you and the house have 21. Hand number 2, the cash awards will increase, and will again for hands 3 and 4. The 5th and final hand will be played with the remaining cards in the deck, and will be one regulation style hand of Blackjack. During that hand, after the cards are dealt, you will have to make a wager. I'll explain more once we get to that point. For now Nels, please select any number from 1 to 18 on our Gambit Board and let's determine the value of this first hand.

Very well, Nels likes the look of number 13... So this first hand's value is... (clang) Nice one, nineteen hundred dollars Nels! That will go into your betting bank should you win this hand. If you tie the house, you'll still win $950. You also may get an option to take a guaranteed lower amount of money, more about that if and when the time arises. For now though, we're going to show you the first card for this first hand. You'll have the option to keep it for yourself or give it away to the house. Remember once the house gets a hand of 17 or more, it freezes automatically. If you can bust the house, you'll also get the $1,900. Lastly, any 21 in this hand and you'll bank $3,800. First card... It's a seven. Do you want that card or give it away Nels?

Very well, a 7 to begin with. For the rest of this hand, you will now use strategy and intuition to decide if you wish to keep the next card or pass it to the house. What do you think this time Nels? Keep this next card or give it to the house?

Next card out of the shoot... (a few gasps) Oh that 3 would have paired up nicely with your 7 there...but this very well may still work out just fine. Right now Nels leads one touchdown to one field goal. Who's getting the next card Nels, you or the house?

Nels is keeping this next card... (applause) That's a dandy card to get! The next card's fate awaits. And although I suspect I know the answer, I am required to ask... are you keeping this next card or passing it to the house Nels?

Hoping to pass a high card to the house... (Gasps & groans) Ouch! That would have given you 21 and $3,800 in your betting bank Nels. I dare say you played it right, however now the house as 7 to your 17. Will the next card go to you or to the house Nels?

That's just what I said when I saw that 4 pop up. Very well, giving away the next card to the house, let's hope it's a card that will do more harm than good... It's a ten, giving the house 17. Now then Nels, as I mentioned before, once the house gets to 17 or more, it's an automatic freeze for the house. You have 17 and are tied right now. If you want to end the hand, you will get $950 in betting money, or half the original value you selected from the board. Or you could elect to take another card to try to beat the house for the full $1,900. If you get 4 more it will be $3,800 into your betting bank instead. You do have 2 power chips that you can use if you receive a card that would put you over 21. The decision is yours. How do you want to play it Nels?

Nels is hoping for a 4 or less here... Did he get it? YES!!!!!! My GOODNESS!!! An incredibly good gamble that time and $1,900 is now in your betting bank Nels! Onto hand number 2. And incidentally, for each hand, the dollar values on the Gambit Board will increase. This time $1,500 up to $2,500 money cards are hidden behind the remaining numbers, plus the 2 Swap Cards and the Power Chip too. Which number do you want this time Nels?

And this hand will be worth... Oh a big one! $2,400!!! We will double it for any 21 you score Nels! Let's show him the first card for his consideration. Keep in mind too Nels we use the same deck throughout this end game, so if you can remember cards that have already appeared, that may help... Oh a nice card there, a Jack, worth 10 of course. Dare I assume you're going to keep that card?

We would love love LOVE to see an Ace here! Next card... An 8. You now have 18, a pretty good hand. If that hand beats the house, you'll add $2,400 to your betting bank. As for the next card's fate, it is entirely in your hands Nels. Keep it or give it to the house?

The house will receive this next card from Nels which is... A big King, worth 10... What about this next card Nels? Keep it or give it to the house? (Incidentally I'm going to revamp this end game as, thanks to this beta-testing, I've discovered that it's just a bit too long and tedious this way, and have developed another method for this end game which I'd like to try out afterward).

Hoping for a six here...or a seven for that matter, since the house would have to freeze on 17 and your 18 would beat it. Next card is... Well a deuce, that would have given you 20, but it puts the House at risk now giving it 12. Giving away the next card?

Next card...
4 of Diamonds
Nels - 18 House - 16
House keeps going until it gets to 17 or more.
Dare I say you're giving the house the next card as well?
