I have quite a few
the 'Time's Up' bell from the original TattleTales (sounds like a 'ding-dong' doorbell rigged to ring continuously) of course, the ever popular "Clangs/Whoops" from The Price is Right when a top cash amount is won, Double Showcase win, etc) the 'tacky buzzer' from the original Hollywood Squares (and the cheesy car horns) from Tom Bergeron's Hollywood Squares the 'car alarm' sound from Tom Bergeron's Hollywood Squares the 'alarms' on Scrabble, Dream House, Fun House, Supermarket Sweep, etc. the 'Home player Spin" alarm on PYL
I also love the 'doorbell' used on $ale of The Century when the 'Fame Game' pops up.
What are your favorite sounds?

here's some others: the winning bells & win theme from The Mad Dash, the bells that go off when a player solves a word on Scrabble (especially when they win money), the "BLIIINNNGG" sound when the 3 stoppers are shown, the "Stopper" from Scrabble (almost sounds like the 'bankrupt' sound on WOF), the 'bing' & 'bong' when 2 choices are shown on Hot Potato, The "roll doubles" sound from High Rollers (WOF used a variant of this when a bonus $1000 could be won on certain puzzles), the 'buzz' if the letter chosen wasn't in the puzzle (and the lower pitched 'buzz buzz' when time ran out to solve the bonus round puzzle') and the 'bwoooooop, DING' heard on 'Catch Phrase' when a player rang in to try and solve the puzzle', the 'boop, beep' sound for the WOF 10 second Timer, and the list could go on.

Specifically regarding The Price is Right, Pathfinder's sound effects are to me the greatest of any game, especially the clanging when a correct number is stepped upon, followed by the single CBS "ding"...very dramatic.

I think the Secret Square sound effect from Bergeron Squares deserves a mention as well.

Specifically regarding The Price is Right, Pathfinder's sound effects are to me the greatest of any game, especially the clanging when a correct number is stepped upon, followed by the single CBS "ding"...very dramatic. Also, the zapping sound when a wrong number has been stepped on is awesome. I have a few more: The jangling bells on Family Feud (as a kid, they reminded me of a fire station bell), its strike buzzer (also used on Classic Concentration whenever a player gave a wrong guess to a puzzle); the Daily Double and time's up signals on Jeopardy!; the Whammy siren from Press Your Luck; and the car win alarm from Classic Concentration.

Me personally, I always loved the NBC claxons that sound whenever the lot was won on $ale, or the Bonus Sprint was won on Scrabble. I wish there was a clean copy of those somewhere.

I also like the 'dragon roar', and the 'harp strum' category reveal SFX on Tic Tac Dough. I know for a fact that a series of car horns was used on Caesar's Challenge to indicate that the main game had ended. Car horns were also used on John Davidson's version of Hollywood Squares when time ran out for the main game. The car engine attempting to start, followed by the 'car alarm' sound on Tom Bergeron's Hollywood Squares is an all time favorite of mine. I thought it was cool when the 'harp strum' was used to indicate the category followed by the continuous warble for the list of possible answers on 'Strike It Rich'. The Klaxon alarm sound on some NBC shows like Scrabble & $ale Of The Century are a favorite. Didn't Davidson's version of Hollywood Squares use this alarm if the car started?

I have been searching for the secret square sound effect from the original Hollywood Squares (think Paul Lynde, Charlie Weaver, etc). Any chance anyone has that?

BillMcDee: Thanks for the info. But I was actually looking for the sound effect, from the original show, that was played when the secret square was chosen by the contestant.

You're welcome. I thought that fanfare with the trumpet was it. My mistake.
