1) if the announcer is usually in the studio how can they say the password to the people at home?
Probably with some kind of mute button or other technology
2) what would happen if there was a tie for fastest winner circle time on the 100,000 pyramid
If that were to have happened, I imagine one of two things would have happened, either both would have been awarded $100,000 each or they might have played one main game tie-breaker round.
3) how could you fit a tiebreaker for player of the week on $50,000 pyramid into an episode
I haven't watched this show so I'm not able to really comment on this one.
4) if your not confident on getting your partner to say the betting word on password why go for it
Because sometimes big risks can equal big rewards
5) what’s the point of passing spins on press your luck if someone might just give them back to you and force you to loose a prize you wanted
The point is trying to protect yourself. Just like in High Rollers one good number may remain, odds are you should pass the dice, but the other player could still roll the number and win the game anyway. Just a matter of strategy coupled with gut instinct. As Peter would say to players "You can pass your remaining spins if you have a fear of hitting the Whammy."
6) back before computer technology advanced to show photographs how did game shows like the face is familiar and haggis baggis display hidden photos when all that was available was slide projectors
These things have been bugging me for a long time
I think perhaps you answered your own question on this one, most likely slide projectors.
Now that I tried to answer most of these for you, I hope you can get some sleep
