To those of you who know David Downs from the Game Show News group...
RIP fellow trader/online friend David Downs, who passed away several hours ago while hospitalized in Chicago, following a period of ill health. His sardonic observations about some current game shows always made me laugh...my thoughts/condolences go out to those who knew and were close to him, especially Amanda Bunn, and I know I'll always think of David whenever a Wheel contestant solves the Prize Puzzle with no money.

Wow, just.....wow. I know he was looking forward to seeing how Vanna would fare as temporary Wheel host tomorrow night and now he won't get that chance. I did, however, have the pleasure of trading with him either in 2009 or 2010. Don't know the exact year but I know it was several years ago. RIP dude.

What a sad day in the world of game shows. Deep down inside, I knew David was a good man who wasn't afraid to speak his mind, no matter how much we disagreed with him. Your presence will be sorely missed, and thanks for the laughs.

Even though I never did agree with his comments about contestants acting hyperactively and his personal terminology (i.e. Pice, a certain nickname for Mike Richards, etc.), David was a great contribution to the game show community, giving us a plethora of game shows, some of which will likely never be shown on GSN nor Buzzr. He even gave us some rare gems. He surely will be missed in the world of game show fandom.
I did read his Facebook comments over the years, and he did mention a problem with his foot. Maybe that was the beginning of his premature health decline.
