A sample puzzle might be...

ELVIS DIES
MARINERS &
BLUE JAYS DEBUT
And award a bonus if the contestant who solves the puzzle can identify the year the events took place. For the above example "1977".

If they were still doing bonus puzzles, I'd go with one I created when I hosted Wheel on BigJon's forum: Tagline where the puzzle is a tagline to a famous or recent movie. For example...
A FAMILY
COMEDY
WITHOUT
THE FAMILY
The contestant who solved would get the bonus money if Home Alone is guessed.
