This episode of Card Sharks marks the debut of Season 2. The following changes will be implemented for this season:
Cash payouts for winning a round are discontinued as the match winner will receive $10,000. Unlike the current ABC series, this will become banked and will be theirs to keep regardless of the Money Cards outcome. Money Cards will now be played for a higher top prize to account for 2019 standards.
Andrew St. Clair is our current champion and we need a challenger for him.

Sorry for the delay, but we shall begin. All deadlines are 48 hours and here we go. (cue CS 78 theme) Jim: You’ll shout out with joy And for a good reason For we are beginning A brand new season On............Card Sharks! And here’s the host of Card Sharks, Mark Liotta! (I come out to a tremendous applause) Me: Thank you very much, Jim Thornton. (Theme fades out) Welcome to a new season of Card Sharks. Our first season went fairly well and we hope that year two will be just as successful. Now then, let’s meet our players. (Andrew and Matt run to the podiums) It’s been a little while since we were here last so I’m almost tempted to address both of you as newcomers even though Andrew is our returning champion. Remind the folks about yourself if you please, Andrew

Hi everyone. My name is Andrew. I'm 43 years old from northern Georgia. I've been a drummer for thirty years. When not drumming, I like to work out, play video games, workout, and just mostly have fun. I'm glad to be here!

Well we're glad to have you back, Andrew. As a reminder, you have $28,351 in total winnings and the man in the blue spot will be trying to dethrone you as our champ. That person is none other than Matt Riggenberg. Tell the folks a bit about yourself if you please, sir.

A decent occupation, but if you win some good money, maybe you can get a better one. Now one thing I should mention, contestants, is that we’ve made a slight change to the winning structure. You no longer receive cash amounts for a game. What will happen now is that the winner of the match will receive $10,000 in cash. On that note, let’s go to work here in game one. Even with that change I just mentioned, the rest of the game remains the same. It’s a two out of three match as always. And as is tradition, the first question goes to our champion. Andrew, listen carefully as I present you question number one of year number two. We surveyed 100 mothers of teenage girls and asked them “Have you spent lots of time preparing a sweet sixteen birthday party for your daughter, only to have to call it off because your daughter was misbehaving right before her party?”. Andrew, how many of these mothers said that they’ve had to cancel their daughter’s sweet sixteen party because of misbehaviour?

Hmmm. Good question. With the way teens are behaving today, I wouldn't be surprised that more mothers would cancel the party because of misbehaving. Still, it is their sweet sixteenth birthday, so I think mothers would let it go. I'm going to say it is a low number. I'm going to say 24.

Andrew says 24 would call it off. (ding) Matt, is the actual number higher or lower than 24?

Matt thinks it's higher. (ding) The actual number of mothers who said they've had to cancel a sweet sixteen because of misbehaviour is.......55 of them. (ding ding ding) It was certainly higher, all right, and Matt gets control to start off. Your first card is.......a Joker? (I turn to the staff) We're not supposed to have those until the Money Cards! (I turn back to Matt) Our interns are obviously still in vacation mode. (New card goes on the board) We've replaced that card and you now have......a five (5D). Play it or change it?

Higher than the six...............a two (2C; buzzer) A rough beginning to our second year, but on the plus side, things can only go up. Matt, the next question goes to you. We surveyed 100 people and we asked them "Do you think fireworks are too noisy?". How many of them said that fireworks are too noisy?

(Back to the studio) We're back with more Card Sharks. Andrew has a two card lead in our first game and he gets the next question that I'm about to read off. We surveyed 100 children on the autism spectrum and we asked them "Do you get upset when your daily routine is interrupted?". Andrew, how many of them said that they get upset when their routine is disrupted?
