BUZZR had tweeted an exclusive first look at the new board design for CARD SHARKS hosted by Joel McHale on ABC. I hope there's an option of freezing the card instead of going all the way like the failed Bullard version. Let me know what you guys think... *Photo image courtesy of BUZZR

Very nice casino looking setting, it's not dark and foreboding the way many 21st century game show sets feel they have to be.
Just hope the game itself isn't a dud. Eager for June 12th to see it and PYL again.

Ah thanks for that James! I thought PYL was also on the 12th.
Appreciate the 4-1-1 pal!

With that, Card Sharks is the latest (game) show to complete the network trifecta, having also aired on NBC (1978-81) and CBS (1986-89), and Press Your Luck has returned to the network where it first started out as Second Chance. I hope that Joel McHale and Elizabeth Banks do Jim Perry and Peter Tomarken proud, respectively.

This is downright nitpicky of me, but does it bother anybody else that the numbers on the new Card Sharks cards are ALL black?
Like they were too lazy or cheap to make the 6 on the 6 of Diamonds red for pity sake.

I just saw the clip of Card Sharks, and you're right, the diamond and heart cards need red numbers...and the right font too! (the one you see in a deck of classic Bicycle playing cards, that is)

Otherwise, yes, red numbers and letters need to go with hearts and diamonds.

Didn't the playing cards for Place Your Bets! have black numbers and letters on the face up side of the playing cards? Recall PYB! was billed as the home version of the short-lived "Dealer's Choice" (to avoid confusion with a totally different Dealer's Choice board game). I just visited... www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/dealers-choice-place-bets-bingo-keno-1891699624...and the cards are there -- but face down. ADDENDA: Found my answer from Board Game Geek. boardgamegeek.com/image/1851267/place-your-betsProof that it's been done before. Unless this was an ABC mandate, this should be done again.

A most splendid piece of detective work Doug!
I adored Dealer's Choice as a 7 year old when it was on WNEW Channel 5 out of New York...Remember fond evenings in the living room watching it with my parents.
