From the initial post I made in the thread: "Contestants have 24 hours after the time the Showcase is revealed to PM their bid to me, otherwise they receive an automatic overbid."
I waited more than 24 hours Nels, but you didn't make a bid, so I don't appreciate this "wow ok" attitude you've taken here. Looking at the recent posts from your profile, I see you made a post in the "MATCH GAME/HOLLYWOOD SQUARES HOUR - Episode 28" thread about 8 hours ago, which was about 15 hours after I posted the Showcase, so that tells me you either forgot to check this thread or ignored it on purpose. The point being you were logged on to the site after I posted it, so claiming that you were working and unaware the Showcase was posted is on you.

Nels, we all have other things like jobs, hobbies, etc. going on in our lives on this forum. If, for example, you had posted something in the Vacations thread saying you were swamped with work and needed some extra time, I would have granted that request as I've done in the past with others no problem at all. You didn't post anything like that though, nor did you PM me with any type of request like that, so I expected your bid within 24 hours per the rules I stated. So, you can be miffed at me all you like, but the bottom line is when you sign up to participate on a show, it's up to you to follow the rules of the game and participate on time.

Welcome back to Showcase Beatdown ladies and gentlemen!
I'm here with Kourtney and Justin, our two Finalists, one of whom is about to become our inaugural champion and have a shot at one hundred thousand dollars! (audience applauds)
Both of you have made some very good bids so far on the show, so I think this is going to be a close battle to see which one of you is the first to earn 5 points. One thing I'm surprised about though is that up to this point, nobody has bid close enough to earn 2 or more points on a single bid rather than just the one. Perhaps that will happen in this Final at some point -- we'll find out shortly I guess.
Kourtney, Justin, are you ready to proceed?

We have our two bids for this first Finals Showcase and here are the results...
Those bids were close together but it's Kourtney who is closer to the actual retail price of the Showcase and he takes the first lead of the Final.

Well, you were both close, but unfortunately, both slightly over.
So, no changes in the game -- Kourtney leads 1-0.
Here's the next Showcase...
This Showcase contains a hair dryer, a screen, a pair of loudspeakers, a couple of trips round-trip coach for two from Los Angeles and three electric guitars along with a four-piece drum set complete with cymbals.
Let's see if one of our contestants can grab a point or two with that Showcase.

For this Showcase, I did not receive a bid in time from Kourtney, so as long as you don't go over Justin, you'll be on the board...
Sure enough, Justin grabs his first point of the Final, but Kourtney still leads it 3-1.

Kourtney, we've had dozens of Showcases on our show so far, but it all comes down to this one last Showcase that you, and you alone, are about to bid on. This time around, you'll win 100% of its value if you can come within $2,500 of the actual retail price, without going over. If, however, your difference is within $500 without going over, instead of the value of the Showcase, you will win one hundred thousand dollars!! (audience cheers and applauds)
