Me: And that top card is what, Leslie? Ah, it's a 6. The score is 10-6 in favor of gameboy2000. Here's the next question: What was Craig McTavish the last NHL player to play without? (BC:82) C: 81 (DING!) G: Pass Me: Clément, again! Clément: A helmet? (applause) Me: Yes, that's the piece of equipment. The first athletic cup was used in 1874; the first helmet was used much later. I am NOT touching that with a 39-and-a-half-foot pole! (laughter) Quick! Let's look at that card before things get out of hand... If this were poker, we'd be on the verge of a flush. However, it's a 9. That will take you to 15. However, you can take the top card instead. What's your decision, Clément.

What's the top card, Leslie? (She turns it over) This gives you 13, Clément. Do you wish to freeze? If not, select the next category.

Symbols it is. What symbol on a touch-tone phone is also known as a octothorp or a hashtag? (BC:33)C: 44 G: 30 (DING!) Me: gameboy2000 has buzzed in this time. Gameboy2000: pound sign (applause) Me: Indeed it is. Let's see what card is behind symbols. Gameboy2000 hopes it's an ace..... It's a seven. Do you play it safe with 17 or take a gamble with the top card? (Audience yells suggestions)

Me: If that top card is an ace, you win. This time, the top card is what? (Leslie holds it up, audience groans) The two of diamonds! Since Clément has 13 and you have 12, gameboy2000, you must select a category.

Me: Perhaps this question will be a piece of cake; how many birthday candles was Madonna obliged to blow out in 2008? (BC:58) G: 67 -- Difference of 9 C: 50 -- Difference of 8 (DING!) Me: Clément got it in a split second faster; what's the answer? Clément: Fifty. (Applause) Me: She definitely did. The number you're wanting now is 8. Get an 8, and all is great.... (Audience awws) It's a 4. Take the four and have 17, or take a risk and go for the top card. What's your pleasure? (Audience yells suggestions)

Me: If the next card is a 9 or above, then gameboy2000 will become our new champion. If the card is an 8, then Clément wins another $2100. Show it to us..... Leslie: (Quickly shows the card) We have a winner! (Sustained bells, applause, and theme starts to play) Me: Clément retains his championship, congratulations! (Leslie and I walk over to the podiums.) We have to say good-bye to gameboy2000. We appreciate you coming back, and picked up $1000 along the way, plus this. Leslie, what else will he get? Leslie: All of our contestants and everyone in the audience will receive a copy of the home version of Top Card from Smilton Gradley. Me: Also sold separately, the Leslie Banks Berbee doll from Latell! (audience chuckles) Gameboy2000, many thanks for playing our game; let's give him a round of applause! (applause) Clément, you have a total of $7300 in cold hard cash! We'd love for you to add some prizes to all that money. When we come back, we hope to put Clément in the driver's seat in one of our new cars. Don't go away!

We are back! Clément is our champion with a grand total of $7300. In a moment, he will be playing for one of these 5 automobiles. The object is to get to 21 in four cards or fewer. Along the way, he'll be collecting prizes off the board. Should he go over 21 or pick the Joker...well we won't talk about that. You can freeze any time you think you'll find the Joker or go over 21 and keep your prizes.
Let's begin. Here are the cars you could be playing for:
$44,475 Volvo XC70 3.2 AWD $36,360 Dodge Challenger R/T $21,070 Chevrolet Trax LS $24,050 Buick Verano $23,275 Hyundai Tucson
Leslie has 5 envelopes; one for each car. Go ahead a pick a number from 1-5 to see which car you're playing for.

(Leslie places the other envelopes on the podium and walks over to the cars) Me: Number two it is. Clément, you'll be playing for.... the Buick Verano! (applause, car theme starts) Dan Jensen will tell us more! It's the 2015 Buick Verano. This sporty car comes with 2.4 L 4-cylinder engine; 6 spd. automatic transmission; Engine Block Heater, and Protection Package. Furnished by Moses Buick GMC. This automobile is worth: Me: Lots of luck, Clément! Here are the prizes to choose from. If you find the 10 and ace directly off the board, you will win ALL the prizes plus the car! (applause) That's almost $40,000 altogether. (audience woos) Clément, which prize would you like to pick first?

Okay, the 10 and the camcorder are yours for the moment. Hopefully that ace is behind the computer! Dan, tell us about it. Dan: From Lenovo, This computer comes with 8GB of RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, color laser all-in-one printer and LCD monitor. Retail value: $1750. Me: We're all hoping it's an ace. If so, then you will have grand slammed the bonus round... (timpani roll) (Audience groans) It's a king. Bad news is you're no longer eligible for the grand slam bonus. However, you can still win the car and the prizes you select. You can either take the king, and freeze with the prizes, or exchange the king with the top card and try for the car. What's your decision? (Audience shouts suggestions)
