Doug taking vacation until further notice

Greetings, all,



First, I'm planning to take the week of Thanksgiving off from NGC. During that week, I'll probably be unavailable to host or move NGC matters forward.



Because of this, the current episodes of Crag: The Numbers Game and Daytime On A Roll will likely be the last for 2018. We might be able to sneak in another episode of Lucky Numbers and another of Chain Reaction -- but I can't promise anything at the moment.



Also unofficially planned is The Name's The Same, based on the panel show of the same name. It was my first foray into hosting at Big Jon's website. I've actually got a backlog of famous names -- and everything must go! Well -- okay -- at least three of those famous names must go.

UPDATE: 'Fraid I can't seem to "fight off" this event-filled fall in my neighborhoods.

Plans call for me hosting The Name's The Same -- starting a few days after Thanksgiving.

The next episodes of the netgames I host solo (Crag, $40K Chain Reaction, Daytime OAR, Lucky Numbers) take place after we ring in 2019.

UPDATE

Due to circumstances beyond my control, the travel plans have changed. I'll be away from NGC the night of November 20th through, probably, November 24.

Over at MG-HSH, we can at least get it the first half of Round 2 of MG (maybe both). Other games I host intentionally remain at a snail's pace because Crag and Daytime OAR are at points where one player is playing against the house as opposed to another player.

MAJOR UPDATE

This is not how I planned Thanksgiving. My father is hospitalized due to heart issues. Doc says a valve needs replacement. It could come as early as tomorrow.

I'm off the NGC grid until further notice. Prayer and kind thoughts appreciated.

After talking this over with family, here's the game plan -- without going into too much...

\ Dear friends and other relatives are stepping up to help so that my brother and I may return to professional responsibility.

\ The heart procedure, still intended for Monday, may be postponed for reasons I wish not to divulge.

\ I'm tentatively planning to return to host games at NGC Tuesday, November 27. While that's a tentative date, the goal is to finish up the games that need to be finished -- and then "call it a year" until 2019. Plans for The Name's The Same have been aborted as a result; trust me, there's a lot of material for that game and it will be back as another one-off special down the road.

...please continue to pray for my family -- especially during what should've been a festive week.

\ Dad's heart procedure went well.

\ Doctors are keeping him at the hospital at least one more night.

\ Due to professional responsibility Tuesday night, best I delay my return here until Wednesday, November 28th, at the earliest. That Nov. 28 date does remain tentative.

Just happened to read this.  So very sorry to hear about your Dad's health issues.  Glad to hear things are going well, or as well as could be expected.

I'll be keeping him and you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.
