Christopher: Say, since I share my name with a famous character, can I play Celebrity Gambit PM?
(audience laughs)
Doug: Probably the civilian version.
Real quick story. My parents were in town back where Chris and I live in Mississippi. And I just *had* to introduce my father to Christopher Pike.
He got quite a chuckle out of that.
Christopher: Indeed he did. (does the "Live Long and Prosper" hand signal)
(audience laughs)
Doug: Niiiice. Well, Chris, unfortunately, no checks from the panel. But we do have fine gifts worth more than a thousand bucks.
Christopher: I enjoyed it. Well played again, Bill.
Doug: We're going to take a break and announce the final scores -- when The Name's The Same continues.
(much updated version of "Shooting Star" by Sidney Torch plays)
Doug: And we're back on The Name's The Same. Back in the old days, this is the part of the show the panelists would note how much money they lost to the guest challengers. Tonight, we're talking about how much our panelists *won* for their charities -- and it's...
(sounds of jingle bells)
Doug: ...quite -- uh -- quite a bundle. Where's that noise coming from?
(reindeer landed on their feet of the roof of The Prospect Studios building)
Doug: This better be good -- and I mean *really* good.
(audience laughs)
Santa Claus: (entering studio with bag) Ho ho ho!
(audience cheers)
Doug: Hey now! It's Santa Claus. Santa, nice of you to join us ahead of your annual world tour.
Santa Claus: Thank you, Doug. I come with gifts for all of tonight's panelists and guests.
Doug: Oh really? Anything in the bag for me?
Santa Claus: You'll have to wait -- or else you'll be on the naughty list.
(audience laughs)
Doug: Oh -- terribly sorry.
Santa Claus: I was watching the show from the North Pole -- and had to hurry down to bring presents for everyone -- especially for the celebrities and the charities they're playing for.
(guest challengers from the episode join Doug and Santa)
Doug: Well -- please tell us what you brought Kevin O'Connell, Jason Garrett and Christopher Pike -- as well as Greg Palmer, Bill McDee and Hunter Dillon.
Santa Claus: (reaches into bag) It's a total of $60,000 in extra holiday cash!
(audience cheers)
Santa Claus: Now remember -- 'tis the season for sharing. So, Kevin, Jason and Christopher each receive $10,000. Hunter, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital will receive another $10,000. Greg, the Red Cross will collect another $10,000. Bill, your three charities -- the American Cancer Society, Autism Speaks and the Alzheimer's Association -- will split another $10,000.
(audience cheers)
Doug: Well, how ya like that?
Kevin: Thank you, Santa.
Jason: Yeah, thanks Santa. This really helps finish Christmas shopping.
Christopher: Oh yeah, I can buy some new equipment -- oh and some gifts for the nieces and nephews.
(scattered laughter from the crowd)
Doug: Panelists, I'm sure you'd like to thank Santa for the extra money for your fine organizations.
(audience laughs)
