Can i take that question back? That was a mistake on my part because i thought Mr. X said he wasn't a part of the original '60s series.

Mr. X: While I enjoy his posts on social networking, he didn't play me. That's a no.

Doug: All right, as play passes to Bill, this is a good time to recap what we know about Mr. X.

He shares his first and last name with a character from "Star Trek". The character's appearances are limited to at least one episode of the original series and at least one movie released after 2008.

In the original series, he was not played by Bill Shatner, George Takei, Leonard Nimoy, James Doohan, DeForest Kelley or Ricardo Montalban. The character has worn a gold shirt -- but he's not a main character. He's not related to a main character. And he wasn't an original series villain.

Doug: Bill, three questions. Make the most of 'em.

Mr. X, I know there was a 2009 and a 2013 Star Trek movie made, based on the original 1960s television series.  Did you appear in the 2009 one only?

Mr. X: Well, we did establish from the get-go I was in the original show and at least one movie released after 2008....









































Mr. X: ...you asked if I was in just one of those movies, I said no -- meaning I was in both....










































Mr. X: ...and there have been just the two movies between then and now...










































Mr. X: ...and I *am* Christopher Pike.

(audience cheers)

Doug: Bill, what had you thinking Christopher Pike?

The clues added up, coupled with process of elimination.  At first I was thinking it might have been Kirk's son David Marcus, which is why I asked if Mr. X was related to any of the 7 crew members.

When you said he was not a villain or adversary, I knew he wasn't Harry Mudd or, cover your ears audio man, "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!"

And similarly to Jason Garrett, Christopher Pike seemed to be a fairly common name, and I knew that character appeared in both the 2009 and 2013 Star Trek films, which by the way I really enjoyed.

Also, I just recently discovered, not to do a plug for somebody else here, an online series via youtube called "Star Trek Continues".  I highly recommend it to any and all of you who are Trekkers "Trekkies", especially of the original 1960s series.
