mringgenberg is back to defend his championship, with a one-day total of $2,800. As soon as he and a challenger sign in, then the show will begin.

(1978 CS Intro) ERIN HARRIS: Aces are high, deuces are low! Call it right, and win the dough...on Card Sharks! (1978 CS Theme) And now, here's the host of Card Sharks, Bill Skinner!Thank you, Erin Harris, and we're back with another edition of Card Sharks! I am also proud to say that we have a great matchup for you today, with our defending champion mringgenberg, who racked up a one-day total of $2,800. And here to challenge him is geniusinmath; please give a warm welcome to him! Also, let's have a warm welcome for our dealers: Amber Lancaster and Tiffany Coyne! And while they deal out the cards that have been shuffled before the show, I want you to know that all matches are best two out of three, and the winner moves on to the Money Cards at the end of the show. But first, you have to answer a series of questions to try to get control of your cards. mringgenberg, as the champion, you will answer first. We asked 100 campers: "How often do you worry about getting attacked by wild animals: always, most, sometimes or never?"How many of them said they always worried about getting attacked?

I think it's a little higher.

And geniusinmath says higher. ding! The actual number of campers who always worried about getting attacked is... ding-ding-ding!...34, so it is higher, and geniusinmath will play his cards first. Now Tiffany will show you the first card, which you can either play or change. What is it? (A ♥)It's an Ace! And even though you can, I don't think I can convince you to change it.

I would be a dummy for changing it. Lower.

Lower than an Ace?
(9 ♠)
ding!
You bet! Now you can keep playing in hopes of getting all five right or freeze. What's your pleasure?

I'm going to freeze.

And you will freeze at the 9. Now here comes our second question, which geniusinmath will answer this time. We asked 100 historians: "Is the Fourth of July the most important event in American history?"How many of them said yes?

And mringgenberg thinks it's higher. ding! The actual number of historians who think that the Fourth of July is the most important event in American history is... ding-ding-ding!...84, so it is higher, and mringgenberg will play his cards first this time around. Amber, let's see his first card. (5 ♥)It's a 5. Now would you like to play it or change it?

Lower than a Queen?
(Q ♥)
buzz!
Argh, not the one we wanted, so control has been passed to geniusinmath, who is being suspended for a month, as is this show until further notice. I will be off on vacation in D.C. starting this evening, but if anyone else wants to replace him, then you're more than welcome to. And that replacement will have to play the 9 that geniusinmath last froze at.

Alright koopakid17, you're in for geniusinmath, who has a 9 showing. And since mringgenberg guessed his last card incorrectly, you must play that 9 right now. Is the next card higher or lower?

I'll try against the odds: higher!

Higher than a 9?
(2 ♣)
buzz!
Ai yi yi! It's a deuce, so neither player advances, and we will go to our third question of the round. mringgenberg, we asked 100 people:
"On summer days when it is very hot, which is more helpful to you: a fan or the air conditioner?"
How many of them said that the air conditioner is more helpful?

I think it will be even higher. An AC unit works faster it gets the room cooler.
