All,
Today will prove a very busy day for my family and me. Although I am off from work today and don't return until tomorrow, we have one man coming out at 8am today to inspect our air unit.
Then some where between 9am and 11am we are "supposed to" get a visit from Comcast/Xfinity (or whatever they are calling themselves this week) technician. Our main HDTV went on the blink about 10 or 11 days ago. It appears the box needs replacing. Then a week ago Saturday my wife's internet suddenly stopped working properly. She and my son have laptops and work off of one modem usually. I have an older desktop with a nice large screen which these tired middle-aged eyes of mine need and it works off of a different modem.
With the issues my wife had, she and my son have since had to work off of my modem. She tried to fix it herself, but it is not a user friendly system to try to fix things yourself. Some are more tech savvy than others, but I know we are not.
In any event, with so many things going wrong lately, and seeing such amounts of incompetence over the last 2 months, from the lack of quality care and lack of prompt services for my mother-in-law, to the USPS again disregarding our stop mail order for the 2nd time in 3 years, to even the waitress not knowing what stuffing was at one of the restaurants down the shore, I am fully expecting there to be problems with our internet, so if I suddenly "go dark" for a while, this will be why.
I hope and pray the Comcast/Xfinity guy A. shows up on time between 9 and 11am, and B. can get the job done right the first time without there being any added hassles or screw ups.
Also, I'm still tackling the last of a Mount Everest of laundry that accumulated during our vacation stay in Wildwood, N.J. one which we started yesterday. Also I'm overdue for a haircut so I'll be getting that done today and I need to call the USPS and give them several earfuls once again.
I was hoping to relaunch Split Decision today, but it's going to be postponed, but hopefully not for very long.
My other concern is possibly losing power. Last week while we were away power went out for an hour, even though there were no storms. Whenever we get a sudden heat wave, like the one we're going through right now, even that tends to sometimes cause power outages for us.
Anyway, I'm going to do what I can today on here, while juggling other tasks. I've been up since 130 this morning getting stuff done in preparation for the very busy calendar today.
Thank you,
Bill
