We have yet to give away a car on Top Card. Perhaps the third episode is the charm. Bill McDee is the champion. Who would like to try to dethrone him? I need two players!
(Matt R. and Kevin K. become re-eligible in Episode 4; Jonathan D. and Michael C. become re-eligible in Episode 5.)

If we don't get a third contestant by Friday, then we will start the game from the championship round.

(Theme starts)
Announcer: This is our returning champion Bill McDee from Pennsylvania. He has already won in cash and prizes $7,855. He is back again to try to win this Porsche Boxster worth over $61,000 (NBC audience woos and whistles) or one of these other great cars onnnnnnnnnnnnnn Top Card! (applause) Here is our host of Top Card, Joe Emerson!!
(more applause)
Me: Good day to you all, and welcome to another fantastic installment of Top Card! You heard our announcer Dan Jensen right. One of these players could possibly win a Porsche today in the bonus round! (Audience erupts in shouts of excitement.) And, back from the test drive, is our gorgeous dealer, my sidekick, Leslie Banks! (applause, some whistles).
Me: So did you enjoy test driving the Porsche?
Leslie: It was so much fun, and I didn't even hit the side of the stage door when I parked it over there. (scattered chuckles)
Me: At least you know how to drive a stick unlike me. I was going to learn, but the engine blew in my mom's car before I got to.
Leslie: Yeah, Daddy taught me in his truck growing up. And speaking of trucks, we have one on offer as well.
Me: Well, we do have three players chomping at the bit to win, win, win! Who are they?
Leslie: Our returning champion is Bill McDee. He is a data entry specialist for a pharmaceutical research company.
Me: Welcome back Bill. You return with over $4000 cash and a pool table you were eyeing so much. What hobbies do you have when you're not entering data?
Bill: In my spare time I enjoy bowling, writing, watching reruns of television game shows, especially from the 1970s & 80s, and I consider myself a novice historian of baseball, pro football and the Presidents of the United States.
Me: I also notice your wife and son are in the audience, today, yes?
Bill: I have been married for over 23 years and have one son. (Applause from audience)
Me: Much good luck to you as you defend your championship.
Leslie: Our second contestant goes by the screen name gameboy2000. He lives in Virginia, and he has a big game show collection.
Me: Very interesting; how big is your library, and what favorite(s) do you have?

Me: Hopefully, this Top Card will be in that collection, soon. Much good luck to you, today. (audience applause) Leslie, who is our next player?
Leslie: Our third player comes from Angers, France, please welcome Clément Couvreur. (applause)
Me: Welcome, Clément. Tell us a little about yourself, please.

Me: Who knows...there may be a sports category here today. Best of luck to you. (Applause, Leslie and I go back to our podiums). Contestants, your object is to get as close to 21 without going over. You will build your hand by answering questions, and deciding to keep the card in that category or exchange it for the top card on Leslie's deck. Winning the round will earn you $1000, but get a 21 on the nose, that bonus is augmented to $2100. Couple of things to keep in mind, you can freeze at any time you think you may bust. However, if an opponent gets a better hand than you, they automatically win. Aces can count as 1 or 11 in this version of Top Card. Without further ado, here are the categories: Bill, as champion, you get to cut the cards. Select a number between 1-52. Also, you get to pick the first category.

Me: Hands on plungers, please. The perimeter of a circle is better known as what? (BC: 4) Bill: 60 gameboy2000: 32 (DING!) Clément: 37 gameboy2000: Diameter. Me: Sorry, that's not correct. (Clément rings in next.) Me: Clément? Clément: Circumference. (applause) Me: You are correct! Let's see if you want to add this card to your hand: (Audience cheers) Me: It's a jack! Do you wish to keep that or take the top card? (Audience yells suggestions) With that decision, please select the next category, Clément. Please respond by 11:59:59 PM EST, Monday, or you take the Jack by default.

(Audience cheers) Me: It sounds like the audience approves your choice, Clément. I wonder if some green will be coming your way with this category of colors. Hands on plungers, please. Due to a lack of pigment, people with oculocutaneous albinism may have eyes that appear what color? (BC: 82) Bill: 16 gameboy2000: 67 DING! Clément: 53Me: Gameboy2000 with the ring in... Gameboy2000: Green. Me: No, sorry. (Clément rings in) Me: Clément? Clément: Red. (Applause) Me: Yes, that is correct! If that card is an ace, I figure you'll be tickled pink while your opponents will be green with envy. What is it? (Sustained Bell Dings, Theme Music plays, audience expresses shock and wild cheers) Me: WHOA! RIGHT OFF THE BAT!!! BOOM! BOOM! Congratulations! You just earned a fast $2100! We'll see you again in the championship round later in the show. Gameboy2000 and Bill, there's always round 2 to make your move. When we come back after collecting ourselves, we'll see who joins Clément in the Championship Round. Don't go away!

DURING THE BREAK....The judge summons over the producer, the Standards and Practices people, Leslie, gameboy2000, and me. JUDGE: Our research department just came back with the following. According to The Vision for Tomorrow Foundation, "[m]ost people with albinism have blue, green, hazel or even brown eyes. The pink appearance is due to the reflection of the back of the eye through a pale iris.." Therefore, gameboy2000, your answer was actually acceptable. Should you not become champion today, we will invite you back on the next show.

(applause, theme fades out) Me: Welcome back to Top Card where we just had a contestant go zippity-doo-dah his way to $2100 in cash. One of these players here will meet him in the Championship Round later in the show. Who will it be? We shall see. Good look to the both of thee. A toss-up will be read by me. (scattered chuckles) (Clears throat) Hands on plungers then. Here is the toss-up: West Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming: which of these three states does NOT have a city of Springfield? (BC: 8) Bill: 50 gameboy2000: 34 (DING)Me: Gameboy2000 with the buzz-in. gameboy2000: Wisconsin. Me: No, that is incorrect, sorry. Bill do you want to try? Bill: I'll answer West Virginia. Me: That's wrong too. (audience awws) The correct answer was Wyoming. Here's another toss-up: What food makes up nearly all (around 99%) of a Giant Panda’s diet? (3 seconds elapse; Woolery WOF Long not-in-puzzle buzzer) Me: Out of time. It was bamboo. We'll get one, yet! Here's another question. What is the largest planet in the Solar System? (BC: 76) Bill: 3 gameboy2000: 56 DING!Me: Gameboy2000, again, with the buzz-in. gameboy2000: Jupiter (audience cheers) Me: Yes, and gameboy2000 wins the tossup! You have earned the right to begin round 2. Which of these categories will you pick first?

Me: Excellent choice, sir. Here's the question. Hands on plungers. Which President had a single letter for his middle name? (BC: 5) Bill: 50 gameboy2000: 34 (DING)Me: Gameboy2000, hot on the plunger! gameboy2000: Harry S. Truman. (applause) That's correct. "S" stood for nothing--just "S". Though, I know you, gameboy2000, are looking for an "A" a "K", a "Q", or a "J"---or a 10. (Audience is silent) It's a four. Would you like to keep that 4 or exchange it with the top card on Leslie's deck? (Audience shouts their opinions)

Me: Drawing her first card of the show, what do you have? Leslie: It's a 2. Me: Slow and steady wins the race...or it can sometimes. Go ahead and select the next category, if you will.

(Cold Open from the break) We are back! Before the break, gameboy2000 selected Number Please. Here's how this category works. I'm going to ask you a question. Using your touchpads in front of you, contestants, you will enter your response. The contestant that comes closer high or low will get the card. In case of a tie, buzzcodes will break the tie. Here is the question: An adult has 206 bones in their body. How many does an infant have? (Contestants key in their answers) DING DING DING!!! That bell means both of your answers are locked in. Let's see what you guessed. Babies when they are bone have 300 bones in their body. Some of them fuse together to bring the total down to 206 as we age. That means Bill is closer and gets the card. (applause) Let's see what that card is.... (Audience cheers) Bill, it's a Jack. Would you like to take it or the top card? Also, select the next category. (Audience shouts suggestions) DEADLINE is 11:59:59 PM EST Monday December 1.
