This is my version of the short-lived Merv Griffin's Crosswords. I'm looking at this being a one-time only show but if all goes well, I may do a second. There will be three rounds, each dependent on how much of the puzzle gets done.
The values for each clue are as follows:
3 letters: $50
4-6 letters: $100
7+ letters: $150
These amounts are doubled in Round 2 and quadrupled in Round 3.
The fifth clue of each round is the Crossword Extra and the tenth is the Crossword Getaway. In Rounds 2 and 3, the fifteenth clue is a second Crossword Extra. If you have less than the maximum value of the clue, you can bet up to that amount in the Crossword Extra.
The Bonus Round will be different. With no time limit, you must complete the crossword puzzle one clue at a time. If you're wrong or you pass on a clue, it's out of play. The round continued until the remaining clues have been exhausted. The grand prize is $10,000 and a vacation. If the puzzle is incomplete after all the clues have been attempted, you win $100 for each correct clue.
The "No Spoilers" format won in the poll so I'll need three contestants.
