Let's do the K.

Let's do the K warp again, please, Wally. (cha-ching) (audience cheers) There's the big one! $100,000. That's the good news. (alarm goes off) Now the bad news. Since you found top dollar, Wally's probably setting a low number on the shutdown timer. Two rolls. You have as many as two chances to roll any sum of 7. Any roll of doubles pays nothing and results in an automatic shutdown. Anything outside of doubles and sevens pays $100 a point. You only needed one roll to win $15,000. Who's to say you can't win $100,000 in one or two rolls? Ready to get back on a roll?

(audience cheers)All right, James. Just two shots... Audience: TWO SHOTS! (audience laughs and applauds as Doug smirks)Obviously, warm-up guy instructed you to make me feel better during an unusually perilous season with my Spurs. (more laughter from the crowd) Lemme put this another way. Just two *rolls* to get that hundred grand. Good luck -- and off you go. (Lenny rolls)A 2 and a 3 for $500. (ding) One roll left. Have you ever been lucky at dice games before?

Tiffany: Closed captioning provided by... (audience cheers) Welcome back to On A Roll. Lenny is up one game on our champion, Frank. Lenny picked up $15,900 between Big 6 and Lucky 7. Frank's looking to tie up the match in this game. Let's reintroduce our guess models. Elizabeth Gillies from The CW's new "Dynasty" series is over by the game board. Nathalie Kelley, also from The CW's "Dynasty", is with us here at the dice table. Also with us at the table is another name game.

(NOTE FROM DOUG: I just realized I used the Cliff Arquette question in the last game. Obviously, we'll throw that out and move on to the next question in order.) (FF reveal sfx)And there it is by the miracles of science and technology. (a few laugh in the crowd) Big answer -- eleven letters -- (Doug scans card) -- and I have an eerie feeling at least one of our guest models will want a word with our writers after the show. Here's the question as it is written. What actor got on a roll -- when "Knots Landing" was spun off of "Dallas"?(scattered laughter from the crowd) (ding)
(Frank and Lenny, please PM me your answer as well as your buzz code from 1-100.)

(NOTE FROM DOUG: Frank elected to pass. So...) (Lenny buzzes in) Lenny? Lenny: Shackelford (dings; audience applause)Ted Shackelford is right. Nathalie, just in case you'd like a word with the scribe -- (Doug passes card to Nathalie; scattered laughter from the crowd) -- his name's at the bottom of the card. Nathalie: (laughs) Thanks. And that writer's probably in the lounge hiding under a table. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Lenny, come on into the box, please. Four rolls of the dice will be yours after we load up the game board. (FF reveal sfx; Elizabeth poses by numbered and blocked spaces) Thanks, Elizabeth. We've got a two-word clue at the top, three-word clue in the middle and a seven-letter word in the bottom row. (Nathalie hands Lenny dice) Thanks, Nathalie. Frank, you're now -- on a roll. (Lenny rolls)Starting off with a 5 and a 3... ...or an 8.

All righty. Three rolls remain. Roll the bones again. (Lenny rolls)And it's a low roll -- but it works. A 1 and a 2 -- or a 3.

(dings; audience applause) That's it. Well -- Lenny -- you still have rolls of the dice at your disposal -- or -- you may go ahead and try to solve the puzzle right now -- and win the match.

I'll solve the puzzle: CINCINNATI?

I don't think so. The WKRP gave it away because there's a show called WKRP in Cincinnati.

True dat -- but let's see what else is associated with Cincinnati? (dings; SCSD win theme plays; audience cheers) The Queen City -- that's its nicknamed -- and Bengals -- which somehow let Marvin Lewis keep coaching. (scattered laughter from the crowd) (Nathalie places dice near Lenny's buzzer) Lenny, please stand by for your chance to win hundreds of thousands in cash. Frank, I'm sorry we have to say farewell so soon. But you're walking out of here with $13,000 and some fine gifts -- and our great thanks for playing On A Roll. Nice hand for Frank Sartori. (audience cheers as Frank and Nathalie walk arm in arm stage right) (obvious edit) Lenny, since you won the match so fast, we're going to play Big 6 right now with Lucky 7 to follow soon thereafter. We'll likely have time to play another main game and start a new match after Lucky 7. So -- with that -- your money roll is coming up in just a few seconds. This is for tens of thousands of dollars instead of fives. Remember, doubles are allowed here. A roll of boxcars makes your Big 6 word worth up to $120,000. (audience cheers) Good luck -- and give 'em a roll. (Lenny rolls)(cha-ching) (audience cheers) Woah! Next best roll. Yo-leven for $110,000. Now, to ensure we'll have time for another main game, Wally, may we have the numbers for Big 6 -- as well as *two* hints about the word. (FF reveal sfx) (...as Elizabeth comes from the game board to help) You're getting two hints for solving that last puzzle with just one clue fully exposed. The regular hint we'd normally offer -- it's game time. The additional hint -- Omar Sharif. Solve the word after just one roll of the dice and it's $110,000. If you need a second roll, it's worth $10,000. (Elizabeth hands Lenny dice) All the other rules from your previous Big 6 word apply. You've already got the dice in hand. You -- are on a roll. (audience cheers as...) (Lenny rolls)Starting off with a 5 and a 3. Lenny, would you like the third or fifth letter?

third letter, please

|
Post by dougmorrisontheair on Apr 13, 2018 6:39:39 GMT -5
Third letter, please, Wally. (ding)It's an I. One more piece of information I should've provided earlier. "It's game time" means the word relates to at least one game or at least one sport. So you have that, an I and Omar Sharif as the additional hint. One time only for $110,000, what is this Big 6 word?

All I can think of is Bridge. So, I'm guessing BRIDGE?

(scattered cheers) This is either a good omen or premature celebration. (scattered laughter) Would that it's the former. Wally, for $110,000, is it the former -- and is this Big 6 word BRIDGE? (dings; win theme plays; audience cheers)YES!!!! Wow -- that's twice you won Big 6 after just one roll. Omar Sharif, by the way, was a brilliant player of Contract Bridge as well as a brilliant actor. Lenny, let's go for more money or a prize with Lucky 7. Wally, please set us up. (FF reveal sfx) At this juncture, Lenny, we have a $250,000 top cash award up there. The car and trip are also still there. Please choose a letter and let's see what you're playing for.

Letter L, please, Wally. (cha-ching) (audience cheers) Woah! That's the second time *that* has happened, Lenny. You find the big payoff for the second straight time in Lucky 7. (alarm goes off) And with that, Wally's only giving you two rolls of the dice -- or so I gather. Yes. Two rolls. Any roll that doesn't total 7 awards $100 a point. Doubles give you zero dollars and automatically shuts down the game. Think you got a $250,000 roll in you this time?
