Hello again all!
I'm in the midst of working on the visuals for the game "Gold Rush". Episodes of this great game can be seen on MVG Production's youtube channel.
As usual, I am tweaking the game a bit.
First, the game board itself is the same 25 numbered squares...
No prizes to match, no puzzles to solve, just toss-up questions for players to earn the right to play the board, or if they wish to, they can pass.
Object of the game is to end up with $25,000 or more than your opponent in score. Do that and you win the game instantly. That may not always happen though, therefore there are two other ways to win...
5 of the numbered cards will be hiding "Fool's Gold" cards. This is akin to hitting a Whammy or a Bankrupt space. Hit that and your score reduces back to $0.
Ten of the boxes are cash squares. If that is revealed the player will select top, middle or bottom to determine how much cash that box is worth. One box could be worth as much as $10,000.
Three of the boxes are "Mystery Money". If this is selected, random.org will be used to determine how much that square is worth. It could be as little as $750 or as much as $7,500 or any amount in between.
Two of the boxes say "Double Your Dollars". Select that and your score instantly doubles.
Four of the boxes are prizes, represented by the gift boxes. There will be one smaller prize, two medium valued prizes and one large valued prize.
One square has a car key and says "Pick again". If the player who picks that is able to hang onto it and wins the game, they could win a new car playing the Bonus Bonanza bonus game.
The other two ways to win this game are 1. If your opponent selects the last remaining Fool's Gold card on the board, he loses instantly or 2. If nothing but Fool's Gold cards remain on the board.
The winner then plays the Bonus Bonanza for a chance at up to $100,000 in cash and maybe a car, as outlined above.
This board has 15 numbered squares. Five of the cards are "Fool's Gold". If you uncover 3 of those, the game ends and you win nothing.
There are also 3 sets of 3 matching symbols and they are: Dollar signs, bags of gold, diamonds.
If a player matches 3 of those symbols before uncovering 3 Fool's Gold cards, they will then get to select one of the remaining numbers on the board, and whatever cash award is hidden behind that number is what they will win. One will be worth $100,000, one worth $75,000. Others will be worth various amounts of cash as well.
If the champion holds onto the car key and plays this Bonus Bonanza round, the 3 pots of gold will be replaced with 3 car symbols. If he matches 3 car symbols first, he will also win a luxury automobile.
One of the cards on the board will be a shield. After a player uncovers 2 Fool's Gold cards, and if the player has the shield, they can elect to use it to block the next Fool's Gold card they pick, but if they do so, they will only win half the cash award picked at the end of the game if they win it.
