Hello to my netgamecentral family,
I want to first of all thank those of you who took the time to write to me in my post in "The Green Room" entitled "Thoughts and Reflections". It is most gratifying to see so much outpouring of support and enthusiasm.
I also want to thank Marc (who I know is in Japan at the moment) for his reassurances and all his efforts.
Furthermore, I want to thank Tony Lane and Bryan Law for taking time to reach out to me via private message. To Doug Morris I extend my deepest thanks for his grace, patience and understanding when I was not feeling ready or up to returning to participate on his outstanding game "Lucky Numbers".
Now onto the announcement. Right now I want to take "baby steps" as it were in returning to host games. I am doing only one for now and it's probably the easiest one I have done, Pay Cards.
As I mentioned in another post, things are in the embryonic stages right now but I hope to get the game launched before month's end.
The rules will pretty much remain the same and will be easy enough to follow and learn as I explain them during the episode.
Once I have all the boards ready on my end, I will post a thread.
I want to go through the archives, as to the best of my recollection, Kevin Kolsen was the last champion when I had the last program some time ago.
There's been a whole lot of personal stuff going on with my family since last October, two deaths, the layoff of my boss who worked with the company for 29 years, threats of more of us being laid off which really bogged me down, and I just learned last week my current co-worker/supervisor who I have worked with for 19 years is facing a very serious and possibly deadly health crisis. So it is just as well that I went "dark" for that time period.
Experiencing all of these trying things, plus a shooting that took place last September right near my home (within walking distance), and remembering my wife's best friend who died Feb 17, 2009 at age 39 from an 8 year battle with ovarian cancer, and so many other personal life situations and experiences, I recognized how short and fragile this gift of life is, and that served as the impetus for me to want to re-launch Pay Cards here again.
Once more I thank you all for your kind support, patience, understanding, caring and feedback lo these many years, dating back to the days of Big Jon.
Sincerely, respectfully and gratefully yours,
Bill McDee
