Johnny: From Television City in Hollywood, this is Jeopardy! Now entering the studio are today's contestants. An Atlanta Braves baseball fan, Sam Switzer. A fan favorite NGC game show host, Kevin Kolsen. And, a courtesy clerk from Council Bluffs, Iowa, Matt Riggenberg. And now, here is the host of Jeopardy, Mark Liotta. (I enter the studio to a tremendous applause from the audience)
Me: Thank you, Johnny Gilbert. Hello ladies and gentlemen. (Theme fades out) I want to welcome you all to our show. As you all know, Jeopardy! first went on the air back in 1964 as a daytime show on NBC. However, the powers that be decided that after roughly 40 years of not having a daytime version of the show, they wanted to revive it. So here we are again back in daytime after all these years. You've already noticed one difference, I'm sure. That is that we are now on CBS instead of NBC. Another difference is that the dollar values are higher than they were all those years ago. The one thing that has not changed, however, is the game itself. It's exactly the same as it has always been. And therefore, I want to take this opportunity now to welcome Sam, Kevin and Matt to our program. Good luck to the three of you as we play the first round. (dollar values pop into the board) One Daily Double only in this first round. The categories you'll be dealing with are: Empires, Take Me To Your Leader, Retro Fashion, Fun Food Facts, Video Games and finally, File Under "B". The B you see up there is in quotation marks and that means that all of your responses in that category must begin with that letter.
