It is false! (applause) It means to explore caves. KEEPING the next card!?!? Wow... very well then Lynn, what will we add to Nathan's 4? A big old King of Diamonds. The right gambit there would have been to pass, but your instincts told you to keep it Nathan. Since that gives you the lead, you now have the option to freeze or continue. Again, a reminder, if you do continue, you may not freeze until you receive another card.

Nathan has froze on 14. Matt, you need 15 or better to win game #1. To earn additional cards you must come up with correct answers to questions within 48 hours from the time the question is posted. Here is your next question Matt. A podiatrist, an ophthalmologist, or a nephrologist, which one could help you if you had onychocryptosis?

Is right for $100! (applause) Now up to $200. Matt, you need a 2 through an 8 to win game #1 of this match. A 9 or more will give Nathan the first game. Lynn, please deal the card. picosong.com/fTwB/Too much! And the game goes to Nathan! picosong.com/3zeF/So we multiply that 14 by $50, $700 for that win, added to the $300 you won for the three toss-up questions, and Nathan, you have a nice $1,000 in winnings so far. (applause). And when we return, Nathan will get to play one quick hand of Blackjack against my lovely niece Lynn, for a jackpot of $2,500 cash. Can he win it? Stay tuned!

Time to play "Beat the Dealer" with our challenger Nathan. Nathan, we're using the same deck of cards, so any cards that have already been played will not appear again. As always, the dealer must take a card if her hand is a total of 16 or less, and must stand on any hand that is 17 or more. If you are able to beat the dealer, you will win the Beat the Dealer jackpot. It's been won 3 out of 4 times this week, including last night's program, so the jackpot is once again at... CLANG $2,500. If the dealer beats you or if you go over 21, you win nothing. If you and the dealer tie, we will award you $1,000. Lynn will deal you your first card Nathan, and it is... A deuce. Now a hole card for the house... Next card for you Nathan is... (audience gasps & groans), wow another deuce, for a total of four. And Lynn's up card is... A six, not a very good card. Nathan, you can freeze if you wish, or you can take another card. What do you want to do?

This has been one doozy of a "Beat the Dealer" game today, hasn't it? Lynn, if your arms aren't too tired, please deal the next card to Nathan, and if it's another low card, I'm walking home! www.fileswap.com/dl/7IcdqlFbv3/GambitBlackjackCheerApplause.mp3.htmlWell what do you know? It took about HALF the show, but Nathan, you did indeed Beat the Dealer, and for that effort a $2,500 bonus! Congratulations! If memory serves, I think that's the 4th win out of 5 this week! Our producer just checked the records and confirmed this to be the case! Let's see, for funsies, what the hole card was for Lynn... A 14. Ordinarily she would have had to take another card, but in this mini-bonus game, if the player gets a 21, it's an instant win, and wow, talk about doing it the hard way! We're going to take a time out, and clear the board and set up for game #2 in this best 2 out of 3 match between our champion Matt and today's challenger Nathan, right after this!

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Wink Martindale! (applause) Wink, we're interrupting the proceedings for just a moment because we wanted to take a quick moment to wish you a very happy 80th (80 really?!?!) birthday today! Wink : "Thank you kindly for the birthday wishes Bill! I understand you have a birthday later this month!" Bill : I do indeed Wink. It's an honor to share the same birthday month with legendary hosts such as you and Bob Barker. Happy Birthday to you Wink!! Wink : And a happy early birthday to you as well Bill. Keep up the good work here on Gambit P.M. Happy Holidays everybody! Bill : Ladies & gentlemen, the birthday boy himself, Wink Martindale! (applause) Meantime, back to business, Matt has buzzed in and we're awaiting his answer

No, I'm sorry, the Tropic of Capricorn lies south of the equator.
Nathan, you will score $100 and control of the next card. Matt has 5, you have 0 so far. Do you wish to keep the card or pass it?

And the card Nathan has kept is... Eh, that's a pretty nice one I'd say! A Jack! Nathan needs an Ace for an instant game and match win. Next question... Does a rhombus have more than, less than, or exactly four sides? Matt?

Exactly Four Sides

Post by billmcdee on Dec 5, 2014 17:54:50 GMT -5

To go with a five... (audience oohs & ahhs) Wow, VERY good thing you kept that Matt! That gives you a 6 or a 16. Next decision, do you want to continue, or would you like to freeze and call that 16 Matt?
