Would champion Matt Ringgenberg & challenger Nathan Diniz kindly check in please?
Also, would each of you submit to me ten buzzcodes via private message? The buzzcodes should be higher than 0 but lower than 101, so in other words 1-100 inclusive.
Nathan, let me know a little something about yourself too please when you send the P.M., and if you prefer to be called Nathan or Nate.
Thank you kindly,
Bill

I notified Nathan via p.m. earlier today too. If I do not get a reply from him on P.M. or on this thread by tomorrow at 7:30pm EST, I will at that time ask for another contestant.

Can I fill in for Nate if he's not available? BTW, you've missed the deadline on The Joker's Wild.

Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): PM… A game of skill, fate and fortune. Frank Caliendo (as Kenny Williams): And now, from the Bob Barker Studio at CBS Television City in Hollywood, here's your host for this evening... Bill McDee! AUDIENCE Yelling: "That's HE!!!" Bill - "That's right....That's me!" (cheering & applause as I walk over to my cozy podium area) I bid one and all a very pleasant good evening, and I welcome you to another exciting episode here on Gambit P.M. On our last program we crowned a new champion and I mean to tell you, we sent our custodian home early last night because our champion really cleaned up around here! Here to introduce him and tonight's challenger is our very lovely and gracious hostess and dealer here on Gambit P.M., and I realize I am rather biased perhaps in saying so as she is also my niece, it's Lynn Jennings! (applause & cheering) Good evening Lynn! Lynn - Good evening Uncle Bill! Good evening to everyone watching us as well! picosong.com/q789/Lynn - First, tonight's challenger, all the way from Mobridge, South Dakota here to play Gambit is Nathan Diniz! (applause) Lynn - And our returning champion, who in just one day racked up $35,945 in cash and prizes, from Council Bluffs, Iowa, Matt Ringgenberg! (hearty cheers & applause) Lynn - Contestants, good evening, and good luck. Back to you Uncle Bill! Matt, I understood you had to spend the night here in our studios, filling out tax forms! (audience chuckling) You gave us all quite a thrill to be sure winning such things as a lovely necklace, a new jukebox, a luxurious grandfather clock and lots of cold hard cash too. Do you have room in your home for all that merchandise Matt?

If you win again tonight like you did last night, you'll need to make even more room! Good luck tonight Matt!
And your challenger this evening, from South Dakota, we have the great Midwest here represented quite well, it's Nathan Diniz!
(applause)
What would you like for us to know about you Nathan?

Well, I am Nathan Diniz, 31 going on 32 years old, and currently, I am in the process of starting a special project aimed at the pinball industry. I can't tell you what it is right now, because the project is currently in early stages. I'd like to say hello to everyone watching!!!!

Once upon a time, before either of you were born, the folks here at Heatter-Quigley had a pinball machine based game show called "The Magnificent Marble Machine", and in spite of all the mocking it may receive, I genuinely enjoyed it when it was on, but that was when I was I think 7 or 8 years old. On we go with our game of Gambit, Blackjack with a brain. The next order of business is to have our challenger Nathan cut the cards. Nathan, we have a brand new freshly shuffled deck of 52 playing cards, which was supervised under the ever watchful CBS Standards & Practices eye, which is one reason why CBS' logo is the eye Nathan, please select a number higher than 0 but lower than 52. This will represent how deep into the deck you wish the cards to be cut.

Bill, I've installed a 2 digit Eggcrate display, and a button on your podium. Instead of having me choose the number, YOU yourself will push the button, and the randomizer will come slowly to a stop on a number anywhere from 1 to 52, that is, if that's ok with you?

Well, that would be unusual, for the sake of fairness and consistency we always request for our new player to select a number himself or herself But thank you kindly. So which number do you select Nathan? Higher than 0, but lower than 52.

Before we reveal the first card here in game #1, just a reminder that Any 21 is an instant win, and will win a jackpot bonus of... (clang) $1,500. Get a 21 with just a 10 and an Ace, and we double it. Lynn, what is the first card please? For a 5 of Diamonds... Was it Oscar Wilde or Mark Twain who once said "Bygamy is having one wife too many. So is monogamy."? Nathan you are first to ring in.

I am going to say Oscar Wilde and if I'm right, I'll pass to Matt.

You are correct Nathan! (applause) Passing the 5 to Matt. Here's the next toss-up question... You're playing golf and you just shot a birdie. You didn't harm a sparrow. Does this mean one stroke below par or one stroke above par? Nathan, you're first again.
|
|
|
Post by nathandiniz on Nov 17, 2014 20:21:11 GMT -5
One shot below par. Since I know I'm correct, I'll keep the card.

Indeed you are correct! And your first card is... (groans) Seems we have some Cle'ment hangover here, more small cards. Just a 4 for you Nathan, but it may very well work out. The 2-card 21 bonus is out of play, but the Any 21 Jackpot obviously remains, as always. Next question for another $100 and control of the next card... Was it during the 1500s, the 1600s or the 1700s that the Mayflower made its voyage to the New World of America? And it is Nathan again, very fast on the buzzer!

Oh well.
Anyways, I'm going to guess the 1500s.

Post by billmcdee on Nov 19, 2014 4:57:32 GMT -5
No, I'm sorry it was in the 1600s, 1620 to be precise. Matt that's $100 for you and control of the next card. Do you wish to keep it or pass it to Nathan?

Keep It

Matt would love a 6 here. Lynn? OOhhh, an 8... Gives you a 13 now Matt. A nasty number. You may freeze or continue. If you elect to continue, you will not have the option to freeze again until you receive another card, and if that received card puts you or keeps you in the lead, without going over 21 of course. Freeze or continue Matt?
