(Audience starts chanting NINE! NINE! NINE! NINE!) Me: Leslie, Jonathan is hoping you have a nine for him. Do you have it? (Vertical split screen with Jonathan on the left and Leslie on the right) Leslie: Jonathan....I don't know how to break it to you... (Audience starts to awwww) but you're GOING TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND!!! (Sustained DING bell, theme plays while audience gives Jonathan a standing ovation.) Me: Way to go, Jonathan! You've just won $2100 for getting a perfect 21. We'll see you later in the show. Bill and Michael. Don't despair, as you two are still in the competition. We'll be right back with round 2 after these messages.

(Applause, theme song cuts out) Me: Welcome back to Top Card! For those just tuning in, Jonathan won round one with a perfect 21, giving him a $2100 bonus. (applause) Bill, and Michael, one of you two will be joining him in the Championship Round while the other will be out of the game. Good luck to the both of you as we begin with a toss-up question. Hands on your plungers, please. Complete this slogan: if it's got to be clean, it's got to be (what laundry detergent?) (BC: 42) Bill: 50 (DING!) Michael: 2Me: Bill? Bill: Gleem. Me: Sorry, that is incorrect. Michael, would you like to try? Michael: Tide. (applause) Me: That is right. You'll pick the first category from one of these subjects: Michael, please choose by 11:59:59 PM Thursday, or control passes to Bill.

I still don't know what a "hollaback girl" is.... Anyway, what would you like to do with... The seven? Take it or the top card? (No chance of busting; go ahead and select the next category.)

Me: Leslie, what's in store for Michael? Leslie: Well, it's....a seven. Well, it looks like your total is now a seven. Me: Which sitcom had characters Doug Heffernan, Carrie Heffernan, and Arthur Spooner? (BC: 83) Bill: 14 Michael: 43 DING! Me: Michael, again. Michael: The King of Queens(applause) Me: Yes, that is right! So, do you suppose there is a king or a queen back there? It's a king, indeed. Take the King or the Top Card? (Audience yells out suggestions) (Due to my moving to a new house, there will be an extended deadline of 11:59:59 PM EST Monday, November 3.)

(applause) Me: We shall see how this plays out; you are now frozen at 17. Me: Bill, if you get anywhere between 18 and 21, you will have dethroned our champion and advance to the championship round. If you bust or exhaust all remaining categories without reaching at least 18, Michael moves on to the championship round. Bill, there are seven categories to choose from. Which one do you fancy? (Due to my moving to a new house, there will be an extended deadline of 11:59:59 PM EST Monday, November 3. Select a category by then, or Michael wins by default.)

(Many thanks; it's in a better neighborhood, too!) Me: As for the Before and After category, it works just like it does on that one show where they spin some big wooden wheel and turn letters. (a few chuckles from audience) Leslie: Yeah, the one where Jonathan won over $17,000. Me: And once you buy a prize, it's yours to keep. (couple of chuckles) Anyway, as for this question, Combine where the musicians usually play in a theater and a dog breed to get this Before and After. Bill: Pitbull. (I look over to the judge, Gary Sherwood-Forrest. Gary gives a "thumbs down" signal) Me: I'm sorry, I needed the first part as well. The full answer was Orchestra Pit Bull. (Audience awws) Not to worry, there are still 6 categories left; where to now?

Joe, it's not a wooden wheel...it's made of steel.

I figured it was steel, I got the "wooden wheel" from Sophia Petrillo when she, on an episode of "The Golden Girls", ranted about Pat Sajak leaving the daytime version of Wheel .

Let's see if you can get a card with this question: which sign falls between August 23 and September 22 on the Tropical Zodiac?
Bill: Cancer?
Me: Not quite. It was Virgo. Go ahead and select another category.

Well, hopefully, you won't get stung with this question. How many pairs of legs does an insect have? Bill: Three pairs (applause) Me: The audience approves your correct answer. What is the long awaited card? (audience gets excited) Me: They say good things come to those who wait. What's your call on the 10? Keep or top card? (Audience shouts suggestions) Go ahead and select the next category, too.

Me: What can we learn from history? Ah..In what year did the Great Depression begin? Bill: 1929. (applause) Me: Indeed, it did. Here's the situation. You will compete with Jonathan in the championship round if the card on that wooden board is an 8, 9, 10, face card, or an ace. Judge: (on intercom) Uh, Joe....that's made of steel too. (audience LOLs) Me: Okay....on that STEEL board...just show us the dad burn card.... (Audience cheers, sustained bell dings, theme plays) Me: Congratulations! You've won with a 20, and will be going to the championship round. Unfortunately, this means good-bye to you, Michael. However, you will leave us with a laptop computer, the coffee package, and $3600 in cash. Your grand total is $6,549. Thanks for playing. When we return, we will play the championship round to see who plays for the chance at a brand new car. Stick with us!

(Cold open from break) We are back with the championship round. Bill has $1000 and Jonathan has $2100. (applause) One of these two will go to the bonus round and play for one of five brand new cars. There's only one way to find out. Let us begin with this toss up. Good luck to you both, and may the cards be ever in your favor. Hands on plungers. Which Comic strip character wears a zigzag print on his shirt was frequently called a "blockhead" by Lucy Van Pelt? (BC was 44) Bill: 66 Jonathan: 60 DING!
Me: Jonathan? Jonathan: Charlie Brown. Me: Indeed he was (applause). You win control of the board. Choose from one of these categories. Please choose by Saturday 11:59:59 PM EST, or control passes to Bill.

In the category of The 60s, it is a multiple choice. Corvette, Mustang, or Challenger: This still-popular muscle car was launched in 1964, what is it? (BC:94) Bill: 82 DING! Jonathan: 52Me: Bill rings in. Bill: Corvette. Me: No, that is not correct. Jonathan, it's your guess. Jonathan: Mustang. (applause) Me: Yes, in fact the Corvette was launched in 1953, and the Challenger was launched in 1958. Jonathan, you won that question. Let's see what the card is. You can either keep the 5, or take the top card. What is your decision? (audience shouts suggestions)

Me: Jonathan is looking for a good card, Leslie. What do you have for him? Leslie: Will a Jack do? (audience cheers) Me: Jonathan, if you can find an ace, then you will win ANOTHER $2100 and the chance at a brand new car. In the category of Anagrams: Rearrange the definition of the possibility of harm with a piece of land used for growing plants. Name both words. (BC: 40) Bill: 55 Jonathan: 49 DING!Me: Jonathan this time. Jonathan: Danger/Garden. Me: That is exactly right. (audience applause) Here's the situation. An ace will win you the game. Good luck to you both. (card reveals) It's a King! Weigh your options carefully; do you keep it or take the top card? (Audience yells advice)
