Hello all,
While I am enjoying a fun-filled but hot and tiring vacation, I am chomping at the bit to begin Monopoly Millionaires' Club starting this upcoming Saturday, July 22nd.
Meantime, when not out to eat or visiting the famous Wildwood boardwalk, I'm in the hotel tinkering with ideas. I don't swim so I don't use the pool, but my wife and son do.
I've also never been very fond of the beach or ocean, so while they may visit there once before we head back home later this week, I'll probably just chill in the room a while too.
I've hammered out a more streamlined mini end-game for BLOCKBUSTERS "Gold Rush" which will be played for $5,000 for one win. The second win of a match and that player will play "Super Gold Rush" for a chance to win up to $20,000 more.
The main game will be one versus one. Game 1 the champion in red will have to connect top to bottom and can do so in as few as 4 right answers, while the challenger will have to connect side to side and can do so in as few as 5 moves. The winner of the first game will win anywhere from $500 - $1,000 and that will be determined by the winning block.
There will be 2 Jackpot blocks hidden on the board somewhere during the main game. It starts at $500 and grows by $250 per game not won. A double-jackpot win will be possible. If a player captures a block with a Jackpot card attached, that will go into the player's bank. In order to claim it, they must win the game.
Game two will be the same, only difference is red will have to connect side to side while white will have the advantage in connecting top to bottom.
If a third tie-breaking game is needed, the first player to buzz in with a correct answer will win the advantage of connecting top to bottom.
Win 1 game and play for up to $5,000 in the Gold Rush bonus.
Win 2 games and play the Super Gold Rush bonus for up to an additional $20,000. The Super Gold Rush will be a bit more involved and also involve questions while the regular Gold Rush for $5,000 won't.
I played 50 mock versions of the Gold Rush and came up with 27 wins and 23 losses. Almost a 50% rate which to me was quite ideal.
The end game of Gold Rush does not involve questions, but will involve 16 blocks.
Hidden behind 2 blocks each will be $100, $150, $200, $250 and $300. A total of $2,000. One block is $0. Five blocks are strikes. If a player scores $1,000 or more before uncovering 3 strikes, they will win the $5,000. If three strikes are uncovered before reaching $1,000 or more, the player will win anywhere from 1 to 2.5 times their total. The last block with cash will reveal a multiplier of either 1, 1.5, 2 or 2.5.
Super Gold Rush for up to $20,000 I am currently working on. Once I get those rules hammered out, I will share that with you all here as a supplemental thread.
Thank you all,
Bill
