(Paige touches screen) And there's an N. Can't *quite* offer a play or pass option yet. All rolls outside of doubles are still good. So, Antonio, you may guess the middle clue or take the last roll of this round.

Antonio takes the last roll of the round. Make it good. (Antonio rolls)And it's a big one -- a 5 and a 6... ...or an 11.

Thought ya might. (Paige touches screen) And you get an A for the effort. Antonio, we're out of rolls. You may guess the top row clue. If you're wrong or want to bypass a guess, we play another name game.

(TPiR Pathfinder wrong move sfx)(scattered groans) Incorrect. Sounds like some of you have the whole enchilada figured out. Please don't blurt out anything. Players, all rolls outside of doubles are still playable. So the winner of the next name game is automatically on a roll. Eventually, numbers will be so scarce that at least one non-double roll *isn't* playable; by then, we'll be in play-or-pass mode. We're not quite there yet -- as we go on to this next name game. (FF reveal sfx)Seven-letter famous surname. Here's the question. Who got on a roll -- when she became a member of Fifth Harmony? (ding)
(Antonio and James, please PM dougmorrisontheair with your answer and a buzz code from 1-100.)

(No answer in time from Antonio -- so...) (James buzzes in)James? James: Cabello (dings; audience applause)Camila Cabello. Fun name to say -- unless you're John Garabedian. (scattered laughter from the crowd) And if you remember that episode of his radio show, you know what I'm talking about. James, just avoid doubles and you're good. You -- are on a roll. (James rolls)(audience groans)(buzz)Yikes! Boxcars. Sorry about that, James -- but you don't get anything for a pair. Audience: Not in this game. Please trade places, players. Antonio, before you roll... ...you may take one free letter. (Note from Doug: Due to the 4th of July weekend, turns will be "untimed downs".)

Interesting choice. (Paige touches screen) You get a T. Antonio, all rolls outside of doubles are still good. So you may guess the bottom row's clue -- or roll the bones.

(dings; audience applause) There we go. We've got a clue revealed. Antonio, this gives you the right to solve the puzzle. If you're right, we have a tie match. If you're wrong, or just want to forego a guess of the solution, we'll be in play-or-pass mode. We'll talk about that further if necessary. Right now -- want to try and solve this puzzle, Antonio?

Vincent van Gogh

Post by dougmorrisontheair on Jul 3, 2017 10:54:14 GMT -5
(scattered cheers) For the game -- is it -- Vincent van Gogh? (dings; SCSD win theme plays; audience cheers)That's it. Real quick, please reveal the rest of the clues -- because, obviously, Antonio figured out the top clue wasn't kissing something... (FF reveal sfx)...it was *missing* something. Missing an ear. One of Vincent van Gogh's ears was mutilated. And one of the artist's best known paintings is titled "Starry Night". (Korrina places dice near James' buzzer) We're tied at one game apiece. James, we'll see you later in the show for the tie-breaker game. Right now, Korrina's going to walk you over to the comfiest chair here in the studio. We'll see you later, James. (audience cheers; James and Korrina walk toward stage right) Antonio, time for your money roll. The combination in this roll will be multiplied by $5000 -- and determines the top dollar value in Big 6. Doubles are allowed on this roll. So boxcars make it $60,000. Good luck -- and give 'em a roll. (Antonio rolls)(cha-ching) (more cheers) Roll totals 7 for a $35,000 game of Big 6 with Antonio, Wally and you -- when you come back to the dice table for more of On A Roll's Big Money Week. (audience cheers) Welcome back to On A Roll's Big Money Week. Antonio won a rather challenging game to tie up the match. Antonio, before we play the tie-breaker game, let's roll the dice for big money -- as we welcome -- Wally. (audience cheers) Wally, what's on your mind this Friday Eve? (audience laughs; smattering of applause) It's On A Roll: Before Dark. 'Tis true, Wally. 'Tis true. Seriously, please join me in wishing Tony a lot of luck with On A Roll *After* Dark Friday nights after Colbert. With that wished, Wally, may we have the numbers for Big 6, please. (FF reveal sfx) Thanks, Wally. Antonio, the dice faces accordingly hide the letters that spell out your Big 6 word. Much like the main game, you're going to try to uncover as many letters in the word as you possibly can. Wally's already giving you a hint. "It's Game Time." All we can tell you is the word relates in some way to games or sports. The word may or may not be a proper noun. Now, much like the earlier game, you get four rolls of the dice. What's different here is if you roll two different numbers, you may only take one of the two numbers you rolled -- and you can never play the sum. Solve the Big 6 word correctly, you win $35,000. But if you need a second roll, the value of the Big 6 word drops to $5000 -- and for each roll thereafter, we cut the potential winnings in half. While you're on a roll in Big 6, anytime you throw doubles or two different numbers you've already played, that counts as a wasted roll and reduces your potential winnings accordingly. (Korrina hands Antonio dice) Korrina's given you the dice, I've given you the rules -- and you -- are on a roll. (Antonio rolls)Starting off with a 1 and a 2. Antonio, would you like the first or second letter.

Certainly relates to sports *and* games -- moreso the former. Wally, for $35,000, is "soccer" the Big 6 word? (buzz) (audience groans) No. Sorry. Great guess, though. Okay, second roll coming up for $5000. (Antonio rolls)And it's a 1 and a 3. You've already taken the 1, Antonio. So, Wally, please show us the third letter. (ding) It's an I. With those two letters and for $5000, Antonio, Wally says it's game time and you say...? [NOTE FROM DOUG: Effective this post, we're back on 24-hour deadlines since the holiday weekend and my quasi-vacay are over.]

For $5000, Wally, is it -- skiing? (buzz) (audience groans) (scattered laughter) No -- and -- "I can't give you a lift." Oh -- ski - lift. Yeah, I get it, Wally. Antonio, you're playing for $2500. You'll want to avoid a 1-and-3 combination as well as the doubles. (Antonio rolls)It's a 3 and a 5 this time. The 3's already taken. So, Wally, the 5th letter, please. (ding) There's a T. Well, you have every other letter, Antonio. Do you have the guess that pays $2500?

(a few in the crowd groan) You folks obviously don't remember Swifty McFadden -- who played right wing for the Hartford Whalers. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Wally, is it Swifty for $2500? (buzz) Nope. Okay, Antonio. Last roll in Big 6. As long as you avoid doubles and any roll with just odd numbers, you'll have one last try to solve. (Antonio rolls)And you're making it easy on yourself again -- with the 3 and the 4. Obviously can't take the 3 -- but we can take the 4. Wally, please oblige us. (ding) There's an N. Antonio, if you're right, you win $1250. If not, you pick up a $500 consolation payoff. It's game time -- and what's the word for 1250?

(a few in the crowd groan) Shinty, he says. Wally, is he right for twelve-fifty? (buzz; NYSI89 losing horns; audience groans) No -- Saints -- as in the New Orleans football team that was the laughing stock of the NFL for about two and a half eons. Then, they finally put it together and won Super Bowl XLIV -- and that was a heck of a game. Well, you did win $500 in this session of Big 6, Antonio. Let's hope for better luck with Lucky 7. Wally, may we have the setup, please. (FF reveal sfx) Now, Antonio, the car was one on yesterday's show. So that's not in play. But four of the letters in "lucky" hide different cash awards. One of them hides the top payoff of $250,000. (wooos from the crowd) And -- we have a letter hiding this great trip. Tiffany, please tell us about it. (trip cue plays)Tiffany: Antonio, a lucky roll of the dice could put you in paradise -- with this South American cruise.(audience cheers)
Tiffany: You and a companion will have an unforgettable 52-day South American sailing vacation from Delta Line Cruises. Visit 15 exotic ports while enjoying luxurious accommodations. Compliments of Delta Line Cruises. And because it's Big Money Week, we'll add $20,000 in cash to make this vacation package worth $58,485.

Going with the C. Let's *see* what you're playing for. (cha-ching) (audience cheers) There's the big one! You found the quarter million! That's the good news. Now for the bad news. (alarm goes off) The champagne's not Korbel. (scattered laughter from the crowd) No, actually, with you finding the most valuable award in Lucky 7, Wally's probably setting the shutdown timer really low. (ding) Yup. Two rolls. Antonio, you'll have as many as two rolls to try to come up with any sum of 7. Anytime you don't, you win the sum's value in hundreds of dollars. Anytime you throw doubles, you win nothing and the timer automatically shuts down. So -- basically -- you don't want to throw doubles -- especially right off the bat. You want a lucky roll of 7. Antonio, are you ready to get on a roll for $250,000?
