All,
I've been doing some "Behind the scenes" work in preparing an hour long Price is Right extravaganza for you to play and enjoy.
As you may be aware, I've been recreating several pricing game sets, adding my own touch to them, especially the ones that are very difficult to recreate. I'm currently working on a retired pricing game that is proving challenging to re-create in my own image, but am enjoying the process, and enjoy sharing my final creations with you.
On this upcoming episode, there will be a slight change to the Showcase round. I will present only one showcase at the end, and each player will secretly bid on it. The winner will be the player who comes closest without going over. If you are the winner and are $250 or less away from the actual retail price of the showcase, you will also win a cash prize equal to the amount of the showcase itself.
Five current pricing games that I most likely will never play nor feature on any version of "Price" that I host include:
Hole In One
That's Too Much
Time Is Money
Rat Race
Pay The Rent
Pretty much impossible to simulate a golf game. That's Too Much is a game I despise. Time is Money is another game difficult to simulate, and I'm not a very big fan of the re-tooled version of it either to be honest. Rat Race is cute, but seldom do we get very close or exciting finishes it seems, and Pay the Rent, in addition to being a pain to recreate visually, is just a very bad pricing game to me. Pay the Rent can prove exciting I suppose, but just not a big fan of it.
Furthermore, I have come up with not one, not two, but three new pricing games that I plan on featuring in this episode. One is a new car game that shares features of Five Price Tags and Pass The Buck. One is a grocery item game for a cash prize, and one is a game where three prizes can be won.
Lastly, I was home sick on Monday May 22nd. During the morning, either my computer crashed or my house experienced a partial power outage. I had to reinstall Firefox, and thankfully all of my favorites were saved. I've had no issue since with the computer (knock wood). It is an old one, it's a Dell Studio 540 and I've had it and used it since George W. Bush was President (got it on Black Friday 2008 after my previous computer died). What led me to believe that it was a partial power outage, rather than my computer, is my son observed after school that his digital clock, while showing the correct time, was flashing rather than being solidly lit. That's what lead me to believe it was just a 2 second partial power outage.
I hope to update Match Game from home later today as well.
Best,
Bill
