(ding)(scattered cheers) And a third 5 for another triple. The blue lights briefly went out on us for a moment. But those screens didn't reroll. After Round 3: bryan patpun2016Bryan, as for you, if we were playing the normal game of Crag, you'd have to score the three fives elsewhere -- probably the fives in the upper section of the score card. But here on Crag: The Numbers Game, it's perfectly legit. Bryan *could* win this first game of the match as we enter Round 4. Patseen, plenty of time for a comeback -- so long as he doesn't roll a Crag. Let's shuffle up and deal a question about poker. Missing digit question: On the big screen, I'll show you the number of five-card hands that are possible when playing with a 52-card deck -- and you tell me the missing digit.82 bryan 24 patpun2016 35 randomizer.org (Patseen buzzes in)Patseen?

No fair cheating! (scattered laughter from the crowd) Are there 2,598,960 ways to make a five-card hand? (ding; audience applause)There are. Anyone here remember when I hosted that game show revolved around poker? (scattered cheers) Ah, does my old heart good. We only played with the Ace through 9 of every suit -- meaning we had much less than 2.6 million ways to make a hand. (rolling sfx)In any event, back to Crag and Patseen's roll. (ding)Stop on a 5. (ding) (scattered cheers) There's *another* 5! (ding) (loud groans from the crowd) And a 6 on the end. Well, Patseen, that is a great roll without getting a straight or better. Want 16 points or a reroll?
[NOTE FROM DOUG: Stopper letters are allowed, even encouraged, with an answer.]

By the way, a quick math tells me that there are 216 combinations from playing three Crag dice. (D)

(scattered boos) I gather you won't cosplay as Ash Ketchum anytime soon. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Are six letters in their correct positions? (buzz)No, sorry. Patseen, normally the Crag dice would offer the right answer and two wrong answers for a chance to steal. But we don't want your attention to go away from the big screen. So... (ding)...three little dice are above the eggs now. I'll repeat the question. With the eggs, we've scrambled the name of a character in the long-running "Pokémon" franchise. Tell us how many of the eight letters are in their correct positions.Patseen, is the right answer 1 letter, 3 letters or 5 letters?

It's Magikarp, so I believe only 1 letter is right.

All right, Patseen. Let's see if you're at least right about just 1 letter being in the right spot. (ding; audience applause)Yes. And, yes, Karmapig is an anagram of Magikarp. Just that first A is in the right spot. Patseen, if you roll a Crag, you win the first game. Bryan, if you know any good hexes, now's a good time to start 'em. Let's roll those dice. (rolling sfx)There they go, Patseen. You've had great luck so far. Let's see if it gets better. (ding)Stop on a 1. (ding)Stop on a 4. (ding)And stop on another 4. Well, Patseen, you may stop here and take the sum of the dice in points -- 9 -- or reroll.

Of course, I'm not surprised. (freeze sfx)Ada from Decatur stays on ice. If you turn the 1 into a 4, we'll have yet another triple. But you stop on a 5 on this roll, it's a Crag and the game. Let's reroll that first screen. (rolling sfx)There it goes. Ready for your stop, Patseen. (dings; audience cheers)WOAH! There's a 5 and that's the game. (Doug walks over to players' podia) This was a well-played game by both of you. Patseen, you broke the 100-point barrier first. And you got the first Crag of the day. That means I present you with... (crowd and Doug count money in unison) Doug: 100... Crowd: One... (ding)Doug: 200... Crowd: Two... (ding)Doug: 300... Crowd: Three... (ding)Doug: 400... Crowd: Four... (ding)Doug: 500... Crowd: Five... (ding)Doug: 600... Crowd: Six... (ding)Doug: 700... Crowd: Seven... (ding)Doug: 800... Crowd: Eight... (ding)Doug: 900... Crowd: Nine... (ding)Doug: $1000! (dings; audience cheers) That grand joins the $2500 you win for winning this game. Already $3500 to the good. Bryan, you're $500 as our runner-up. But we're not done. We'll play another numbers game and see if Bryan can narrow the money score. Our race to $5000 continues when you come back. (WGYN theme plays; audience applauds)

With the car goes this gas card, furnished by CDM Enterprises worth $100,000 to make this prize package worth $210,237. (more cheers)And our contestants will receive some of the following.

Dessert of the Month. Every month, a scrumptiously different dessert will arrive at your home. Each dessert is made to serve 12 and will be delivered in a reusable, designer tin. Furnished by Dessert of the Month.

And From Martin Lawrence Galleries, a beautiful, limited-edition serigraph entitled "Elegance in Travel" by Susan Rios. It's numbered and hand-signed by the artist and available at Martin Lawrence Galleries throughout the United States. (more cheers)Mighty nice prizes -- *plus* this memento of the show. Bryan, Patseen, you'll be the first folks on your blocks to play Crag: The Video Game on the new Nintendo Switch. You'll receive this game *and* the new syste. Also, during the next commercial, three lucky members of our audience will each receive the game and the new Nintendo Switch. (scattered cheers from the crowd) An unlucky member of the audience receives Pac-Man for the Atari 2600. (scattered laughter from the crowd) You'd have to get your own 2600 system on eBay or something. (more laughter from the crowd) After one numbers game, Patseen leads $3500 to $500. That's really not a reflection on how that game turned out. Bryan was down by just one point, 51-50, and then Patseen wins a question, rolls a Crag and wins the game. Next game's worth $2500 to the winner and $500 to the runner-up. $5000 wins the match and the shot at the million. (ding)Now, we have *three* question marks up there. That means we're going to start our second numbers game with an ordinal number question. Here goes. Ordinal number question: Was Patty Duke the first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth woman to be president of the Screen Actors' Guild? 07 bryan 53 patpun2016 25 randomizer.org(Bryan buzzes in)Bryan?

Bryan says -- (scattered groans) -- much to the dismay of some in the crowd Patty was the second female president of SAG. Who's right? (ding; audience applause)Yes! The first female president of SAG was Kathleen Nolan. Bryan gets to roll the dice. The crowd doesn't. (scattered laughter from the crowd) (rolling sfx)Bryan, let's see if you can make 'em eat their words with a Crag.

After Round 1: bryan patpun2016Taking 20 points. During the break, Bryan, you may say "neener neener neener" to the crowd as many as 20 times. (scattered laughter from the crowd) Let's fill in a blank, shall we? (MG'7x stinger) (scattered cheers) Players, you're filling in the blank in the following statement with an ordinal number. And the audience -- despite certain members' lack of faith in the last round -- (scattered laughter from the crowd) -- gets to help out. Author John Gray, Ph.D., is so philosophical...
HOW PHILOSOPHICAL IS HE?!!?!?
...according to the title of one of his books, women are from the BLANK planet in our solar system.

If that's right, I'm seeing a trend. According to John Gray, are women from the 2nd planet from the sun? (ding; audience applause)That's it. He says they come from Venus. Title of the book is "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus". (rolling sfx)Both of you have been lucky with the dice. Patseen, let's see if that streak continues.

Patseen's guessing the Jack of Diamonds is worth negative ten points in a certain variation of Hearts. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)It is. Jack of Diamonds is a good card to collect -- unless you're trying to shoot the moon and score 26 -- that way you get nuttin' and the others get 26 each. Hearts is one of few games where low score wins. (rolling sfx)But 26 points to the good -- a good thing here on Crag. Patseen, let's see if you can do that -- or better with a Crag.
