Greetings, all.
We're about to start a new week of Crag: The Numbers Game.
We just had a five-time undefeated champion retire. So we seek two participants.
Unless you played in the 25th episode's main games, you're eligible to play.
Who's in?

Staff announcer: The best of March Madness's first weekend -- tonight at six. (lights in studio gradually are turned on)
(audience cheers) Helloooo, everybody, I'm Doug Morris and welcome to Crag: The Numbers Game -- where 13 can be lucky. Last week, 13 was quite lucky to our five-time champion, Lenny Jackson. He drove out of here with more than $669,000 in cash and merchandise. (audience cheers)Yes. And we're about to start all over again. We've got a new car to give away -- and two contestants eager to win it and a lot of cash. A warm welcome to Brian Law and Patseen Punsiri (audience cheers) Brian, welcome, I understand you come to us from North Mississippi. Please tell us about yourself.

Alright, I'm a 12-grade-ish student, majoring in Japanese, came all the way from Bangkok, Thailand. I recently found a new hobby of playing board games.

Ah, nice to have you here from Thailand. We've tried selling international versions of Crag to other countries. Perhaps Crag will come to a network near you. And through the courtesy of Fly By Night Graphics, a division of CDM Enterprises -- (scattered laughter from the crowd) -- we've fixed the spelling on Bryan's name. Again, Bryan, Patseen, good luck to you both. Much like the regular dice game of Crag, our game is all about numbers -- particularly the numbers you can roll on dice. The right answer to each question on our show is a number between 1 and 6 inclusive. Sometimes, we'll ask for the Roman numeral or ordinal equivalent of one of those numbers -- perhaps even a spelled-out word (between "one" and "six" inclusive). And we often have missing digit questions. I'll explain how they work later. (ding)Solitary question mark appears -- representing the right answer to a single digit question. And here's that question. Single digit question: Changes are coming to the board game Monopoly -- particularly with tokens you move around the board. But old or new, your game piece will land in jail after -- how many consecutive rolls of doubles? 88 bryan 48 patpun2016 91 randomizer.org (Bryan buzzes in)Bryan?

Bryan says rolling doubles 3 straight times lands you in the slammer. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)That's it. Good job. Bryan, with that right answer, you have two rolls of our three Crag dice. If you like your first roll, take the points associated with your combination and we'll end the round. But if you'd like a reroll, you may freeze up to two numbers and reroll the rest. And over here are the ways you can score a lot of points on Crag. There are four different straights worth 20 points. The numbers 1-2-3 make a low straight; 4-5-6 a high straight; 1-3-5 an odd straight and 2-4-6 an even straight. Order of the numbers matters not -- just as long as they're all different and they're all low, high, odd or even. Anytime you roll three of the same number, that's a triple for 25 points. And as we often point out, 13 is a lucky number in Crag. Anytime the dice total 13, we'll double the sum for 26 points. *But* if you have a pair of numbers and an odd number total 13 on the board, that's a Crag -- and it's worth 50 big points. (rolling sfx)Bryan, the dice are rolling right now. please stop the dice, one at a time, as they lock into your buzzer.
[NOTE FROM DOUG: Bryan, please "stop the dice" with three letters from A to F inclusive. You may repeat letters if you think that helps.]

(ding)Stop on a 4. (ding)Stop on another 4. (ding)(scattered cheers) And stop on a third 4. Bryan, that's a triple for 25 points. You may end the round here, take 25 points and we start a new round -- or you freeze up to two of the dice and reroll the rest. What'cha'wanna do?

Taking the 25. All right. After Round 1: bryan patpun2016First player to score 100 points wins the game and $2500; runner-up collects $500. We also have $1000 to award the first player in the match to roll a Crag. Player who racks up $5000 wins the match -- and the chance at the million in the Super Crag. (audience cheers) (ding)New round starts with a clear board. We've already put up another question mark. And here's the question. Single digit question: A few golf tournaments use the Modified Stableford scoring system -- where a positive score is a good thing. How many points would you earn for a Birdie? 90 bryan 86 patpun2016 67 randomizer.org (Patseen buzzes in)Patseen?

Patseen says you collect 2 points for the birdie. Is that right? (ding; audience applause)That's right. Two points for a birdie -- good. Having your ball swallowed by the crocodile -- bad. (scattered laughter from the crowd) (rolling sfx)Patseen, you saw how Bryan scored 25 points. Let's see if you can score as much -- if not more.

(ding)Stop on a 5. (ding)Stop on a 2. (ding)(scattered cheers) And stop on a 6. Well -- three numbers that total 13 doubles the sum to 26 if you stop the round here, Patseen. If you do, you'd lead by 1 point.

Taking the points and the slim lead. After Round 2: bryan patpun2016Good and lucky players so far. Now we change up the pace a bit and play a missing digit question. (ding)Now this is just a sample question. This is the title of Taylor Swift's fifth studio album -- which reflects the year she was born. All you have to do is signal and tell me the missing digit -- represented by the question mark. And I think we know that first digit is a... (ding)...1. Now, we clear the board and get set for the intended missing digit question. Missing digit question: The Bible's Books of Exodus and Deuteronomy tell us about a certain number of commandments. I'll show you the number of commandments -- and you tell me the missing digit. (ding)34 bryan 57 patpun2016 24 randomizer.org (Bryan buzzes in) Bryan?

We prefer, Bryan, you simply respond with the missing digit. But many players over the years have been known to give us the full number. So long as they include the right missing digit, they get to roll the dice. So -- is that missing digit a 1 for 10? (ding; audience applause)There ya go. Feel better now? (rolling sfx)There go the dice for ya, Bryan. Stop the dice when you're ready.

(ding)Stop on a 1. (ding)Stop of a 5. (ding)And stop on a 5. Bryan, 1, 5 and 5 total 11 points if you stop the round right here. Remember, if you want to reroll, you may freeze up to two numbers and we'll reroll the rest.

(scattered cheers) They like the strategy. Now, Brian, we'll freeze the fives -- like so. (freeze sfx)For the rest of the round, those fives will not reroll. The left screen with the 1 will roll. (rolling sfx)And there it goes. Stop on a 3 and you'll have a big lead in this opening game.
(Bryan, please respond with one letter from A-F.)
