On our last show, mringgenberg won another $25,000, and now has a two-day total of $35,800. We need a new challenger to play against him, and then the show can begin.

(1978 CS Open) ERIN HARRIS: Aces are high, deuces are low! Call it right, and win the dough...on Card Sharks! (1978 CS Theme) And now, here's the host of Card Sharks, Bill Skinner!Thank you very much, Erin Harris, and welcome to another edition of Card Sharks! If you're feeling a sense of deja vu, it's because we're about to begin a rematch of the last show, because our two-day defending champion mringgenberg is being challenged once again by koopakid17! Welcome gentlemen, and good luck! And welcome also to our two dealers, Amber Lancaster and Tiffany Coyne! Now the first question will go to mringgenberg. We asked 100 people this question: "After a few slip-ups in the presentations, were the 2017 Oscars the worst awards show ever?"How many of those people said yes?

46

mringgenberg says 46. ding! Now koopakid17, do you believe that the actual number is higher or lower than 46?

Post by koopakid17 on Feb 28, 2017 20:07:50 GMT -5
I didn't watch last night's Oscars. Like every other award show, it was hypocrites attacking Trump for the duration of the show all while stooping down to tantrum-throwing actors playing the race card to get nominated. The snafu at the end might have been a pathetic attempt to try to get people to care.
That said, I think it might be higher than 46.

Post by Bill Skinner on Feb 28, 2017 22:50:30 GMT -5
And koopakid17 says it's higher. ding! The actual number of people who said that it was the worst ever is... ding-ding-ding!...52, so it is higher, and the challenger gets to play his cards first. Now what's his first card, Tiffany? (K ♥)It's a King! Now would you like to play that King or change it?
Post by koopakid17 on Feb 28, 2017 23:03:00 GMT -5
I'll play it and say lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on Feb 28, 2017 23:13:13 GMT -5
Lower than a King?
(2 ♣)
ding!
Yes, the itty-bitty deuce! I don't mean to influence you here, but are you going to continue or freeze?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 1, 2017 0:43:32 GMT -5
Higher!
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 1, 2017 6:23:12 GMT -5
Higher than a 2?
(3 ♣)
ding!
Surely it is! Now what?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 1, 2017 18:31:28 GMT -5
Higher!
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 1, 2017 22:32:00 GMT -5
Is it higher than a 3?
(J ♠)
ding!
Yes, and you are now one card away from taking the first round, so are you going to continue or freeze?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 1, 2017 22:39:04 GMT -5
Freeze!
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 1, 2017 22:48:21 GMT -5
And we will freeze at the Jack... ...then get into a new question. This time, koopakid17 gets to answer. This should be a fun question; we went to Las Vegas and asked 100 tourists: "While in Las Vegas, do you go there solely to gamble or any other activity?"How many of those people said they go to Las Vegas for something other than gambling?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 1, 2017 22:55:58 GMT -5
There are other things to do in Vegas so I think people go there to to more than just gamble. I think it will on the high side: 62.
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 1, 2017 23:07:33 GMT -5
So koopakid17 says 62. ding! Now mringgenberg, is the actual number higher or lower than 62?
Post by mringgenberg on Mar 1, 2017 23:10:01 GMT -5
It's going to be a little higher.
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 1, 2017 23:28:57 GMT -5
And it's higher for mringgenberg. ding!Well, the actual number of people who said that they'd go to Vegas for non-gambling activities is... ding-ding-ding!...61, so it is not higher, and koopakid17 has control of the cards once again. Would you like to play that Jack now or change it?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 1, 2017 23:36:00 GMT -5
I will keep it and go lower!
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 1, 2017 23:53:43 GMT -5
This is it, for the first win of the game. Is it lower than a Jack? (2 ♠) ding-ding-ding!(1978 CS Win Cue) And with that, you strike first and lead 1-0. (1978 CS Theme) But when we come back, we'll give mringgenberg a chance to catch up and force a tiebreaker. Stay right there!

Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 1, 2017 23:58:46 GMT -5
Welcome back to Card Sharks, where we're about to begin a new round! The challenger, koopakid17, currently leads mringgenberg 1-0, but we will give our champ a chance to force a tiebreaker. But koopakid17 will get the first question in this round, and here it is. We asked 100 basketball fans:
"Which is better: college hoops or the NBA?"
How many of them said that college hoops is better?
Post by koopakid17 on Mar 2, 2017 13:16:38 GMT -5
I don't follow basketball all too much but I think the NBA has a longer standing than college hoops. I'll say 35 in favor of college.
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 2, 2017 13:58:43 GMT -5
So koopakid17 says 35. Now mringgenberg, is the actual number higher or lower than 35?
Post by mringgenberg on Mar 2, 2017 14:07:13 GMT -5
It's going to be a slight bit higher.
Post by Bill Skinner on Mar 2, 2017 14:37:11 GMT -5
And mringgenberg thinks it's higher. ding! The actual number of people who prefer college hoops over the NBA is... ding-ding-ding!...43, so it is higher, and mringgenberg finally gets to play his cards. What is the first card, Amber? (J ⋄)A Jack! Now you can play it as it is, or change it. What would you like to do?
