And I hope so, too. Had a pretty good run last time with the Money Cards. Here's the guy who doesn't want you there this time, his name's Doug Morris. Welcome to Card Sharks. Give us the 411 on yourself please.

Thank you, Doug. Let's see if we can get you some money to help with your career. We wish you well on our show. Our lovely ladies, Charlene and Jewel, will deal the cards for your game boards right now...
MICHAEL [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS] DOUG [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
Our champ in red on top and our challenger has the blue deck on the bottom. You gain control of those cards by answering high-low questions. Michael, this first one of this match is for you. We surveyed 100 people:
"Do you still use a VCR?"
How many people said yes they still use a VCR?

|
Post by larsonfan1 on Sept 12, 2014 15:54:37 GMT -5
I think that is a low number, I'll say 24.

Post by koopakid17 on Sept 12, 2014 17:03:16 GMT -5
According to Michael, 24 out of 100 people still use a VCR...
[24][__][__]
*ding*
Doug, do you think the actual number is higher or lower than 24?

|
Post by dougmorrisontheair on Sept 12, 2014 18:44:25 GMT -5
Strangely enough, I *own* a VCR. Just as odd, it's flashing "12:00".
Still I'm gonna say the actual number's a touch lower than 24.

A tad lower you say, Doug...
[24][__][LO]
*ding*
I can actually remember the last time I recorded on a VHS tape, then the component stopped working after that. The actual number of people who still use VCR's is...
[24][45][LO]
*dingdingding*
45! Surprisingly, some people still use them over DVD's! Guess there's no changing them.
MICHAEL [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
Michael, our champ, has the first shot of the cards...
MICHAEL [10♥][CS][CS][CS][CS]
With a ten. Call higher or lower, Michael. You can also change if you desire.

This is for a sweep of the board if this last card is lower than the Jack...
MICHAEL [3♦][4♦][Q♥][J♥][2♦]
You did it!
*'86 CS Win Cue*
And that means Michael has just won another $500 and he's one away from going back to the Money Cards. Doug, you'll get your chance to catch up after this message!

We are ready once again to play some Card Sharks. We've restocked the board for Game 2 which Doug must win to force a tiebreaker. This first high-low question goes to our challenger. We surveyed 100 recent college graduates. All these people graduated from college four months ago:
"Do you think you will pay off your debt in less than ten years?"
How many college graduates said no, Doug?
|
|
|
Post by dougmorrisontheair on Sept 14, 2014 21:24:51 GMT -5
To those who recently graduated college, best of luck here in the real world. I would venture to say most of them would need more than a decade to payoff off the loans.
I'm gonna say the number's pretty high. I'll say -- 83 out of the 100 said no.
|
|
|
Post by koopakid17 on Sept 14, 2014 21:33:07 GMT -5
So 83 out of 100 will be stuck with loans for the next ten years...
[__][__][83]
*ding*
How about you, Michael?
|
|
|
Post by larsonfan1 on Sept 15, 2014 14:05:58 GMT -5
I kind of agree with that number but I think it is a little bit lower.

|
Post by koopakid17 on Sept 15, 2014 17:56:51 GMT -5
Little lower...
[LO][__][83]
*ding*
And the actual number of recent college graduated will don't they they will pay off your debt in less than ten years is...
[LO][71][83]
*dingdingding*
71 of them! Michael, you were on the nose on that. You thought those students collectively had a little more faith.
MICHAEL [CS][CS][CS][CS][CS]
Michael again will have the first crack of the cards for Game 2. Your base card is...
MICHAEL [5♠️][CS][CS][CS][CS]
A five.
