ME: Lenny, you're right; Kevin, you're right; Kourtney, Thom Hartmann is a LIBERAL, I'm afraid. $150 apiece for Lenny and Kevin as...(CLANGCLANGCLANGCLANGCLANG! Applause)...we reach the end of Round Two! Sit back, fellas, relax, and let's check everyone's scores.
KEVIN: $1,425 KOURTNEY: $1,050 LENNY: $2,025
(Theme restarts)
ME: Great work, everybody! I think we're going to see quite a horse race in the Countdown Round today. We're going to play that to find out who goes for one of the five Toyota automobiles later. Before we do that, though, here's a question for everyone at home.
Earlier, we had a question on popular political commentators. Who is the highest-ranking former political commentator currently in the U.S. government?
ME: Think about that one...the answer will surprise you. We'll be back to find out the answer and play the Countdown Round, so stay with us!

(Theme plays as the camera shows me at the contestants' desk, chatting with them)
BRIAN: Welcome back to "Split Second"! Did you know the answer to our play-along question: Who is the highest-ranking former political commentator currently in the U.S. government? You didn't have to go too far down the rankings: it's VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE. In the 1990s, he hosted "The Mike Pence Show," which was syndicated on nearly 20 radio stations in his home state of Indiana.
(Cut to an art card plugging the accommodations)
BRIAN: While in Toronto, out-of-town guests and staff stay at the Radisson Admiral Hotel - Harbourfront. Located in the Entertainment District just 5 minutes from the CN Tower and Rogers Centre, this hotel offers bright and airy rooms in a modern property featuring a heated outdoor pool and fine dining restaurant.
(Shot of me back at my podium)
BRIAN: Now, let's return to Jon Darrall and play the Countdown Round!
ME: Thank you, Brian! Told you that you would be surprised by the answer to the play-along question. Welcome back to Split Second. This round, the Countdown Round, will determine who goes on to play for the car. Players, we will play this round like before, but with one exception: this time, when you buzz in, you may provide one, two, or all three answers, so long as you give correct answers and WAIT for me to acknowledge them (players, you DON'T need to wait for me if someone says "I don't know" or "I pass" - only wait if a player gives a right or wrong answer). You will count down one point for every right answer, and the first player to count down to 0 wins the game, an extra $1,000 cash, and a chance at the cars. Let's determine your starting scores.
KEVIN: 5 KOURTNEY: 6 LENNY: 4
ME: Kourtney, since you were in third going into this round, you'll start with 6 points. Kevin, you were second, so you'll start with 5 points. Lenny, as our leader, you'll start with 4 points. Anyone can erase a deficit easily. Remember, gentlemen, you MUST WAIT for me to acknowledge a right or wrong answer (but not a pass), and give answers one at a time, or you'll forfeit your turn. Let's begin the Countdown Round...now!
(Countdown Round cue begins)
ME: First question is on U.S. GEOGRAPHY.
The Appalachian Trail runs over 2,000 miles through 14 different states. Imagine that you were starting at the southernmost point of the trail and hiking north. Look at the screen and tell me which state you would visit....
A. ...first? B. ...second? C. ...third?
(BONG! BONG! BONG!)
ORDER: Lenny, Kourtney, Kevin.
ME: Lenny, go for it.

ME: That's what we needed (Applause)! Kevin counts down 2 points and now has 3, and Lenny counts down 1 point to 3. Kevin and Lenny, either one of you could go out on this next question. Kourtney, you'll want to try to stop them. Next question is on CLOTHING.
Different articles of clothing were designed to be worn on, over, or around different body parts. I'll name three articles of clothing, and you tell me where, specifically, on your body you would wear them. Look at the screen.
A. Cravat B. Cummerbund C. Chukkas
(BONG! BONG! BONG!)
ORDER: Lenny, Kevin, Kourtney.

ME: They are! You win!
(Fanfare plays as the crowd applauds and everyone shakes hands)
ME: Yes, chukkas are polo boots, so they are indeed worn on the feet. Lenny, you played very well today. In fact, I think you missed only two questions the entire game. Kevin and Kourtney, you were up against a dynamic player. Kevin, you are leaving us with $1,425, and Kourtney, you are leaving us with $1,050. Lenny, you picked up an extra $1,000, giving you $3,025 so far today. You know what's going to happen now...you're going to come with me and play for a brand new Toyota!
(Lenny gets up out of his seat and joins me as we walk through the stage doors, leading to the car area. Theme restarts.)
ME: Will Lenny get the new car? Find out when we return to "Split Second"!

(Theme plays as the camera swings in from an overhead shot of the bonus area, zooming in to a screen positioned between me and Lenny. Brian does this plug...)
BRIAN: All cars for this week's shows are provided by Yorkdale Toyota-Scion. Offering "small town service in the heart of the city," Yorkdale is Toronto's premier dealer for Toyota and Scion sales and service. Visit our showroom or our website at "yorkdale toyota dot com." Now, let's rejoin Jon and Lenny on "Split Second"!
(Shot of us at the base of a series of platforms, each displaying a car and a mounted monitor on the back of each platform. The platforms also have lighted floors.)
ME: Thanks, Brian! We are back with Lenny Jackson, our new champion from Washington, DC. He has $3,025 in cash, and I know he wants to win more. First, Lenny, here are the five cars up for grabs....
(Bonus area darkens slightly as the theme starts back up. As I announce each car's name, the lighted floor beneath it shines and the monitor behind it displays the name.)
ME: You could win the COROLLA LE CVT sedan (Applause)! Or the EIGHTY SIX sports coupe (Applause)! How about the RAV4 SUV (Applause)? Maybe the TACOMA pickup (Applause)? You could also win the YARIS liftback that was won last time (Applause)! Those are the cars, and here's how you win them. Above the screen beside you are five keys, one for each car. Pick one, and if you go on to select the car that matches it, you retire with the car and the cash you've won so far (Applause)! Go ahead and pick a key, please.

(Lenny pulls Key 5 from the display and holds on to it)
ME: Very good. Now, you have a one-in-five chance of finding the car that that key starts. Those are not good odds by any stretch of the imagination, right, Lenny?
LENNY: Nope.
ME: Didn't think so (Laughter). So, we will help you reduce those odds by answering some questions. I have three questions, each with three parts. To be correct on a question, you must answer all three parts correctly. To help you out, all three questions will have the same three answers, and each answer will only be used once per question. In other words, you just need to give the correct combination of answers. Remember to use the answers given on the screen, AS THEY ARE LISTED. Otherwise, I'll make you correct yourself. Remember also to give all three answers at once. Every time you give me all parts correctly, we will eliminate one mismatched car. Hopefully, we can improve your odds to one-in-four, one-in-three, or one-in-two. Let's see what the answers are for today's Bonus Round.
(Screen displays)
CHRISTIANITY JUDAISM ISLAM
ME: CHRISTIANITY, JUDAISM, or ISLAM. The three major world religions. Here is the first question.
Each of the three religions has a distinct and interesting history. Look and the screen and tell me which religion was...
A. ...founded first? B. ...founded second? C. ...founded third?
Please give me all three answers at once, and make sure to specify which answer goes with which part, or you may be counted wrong.

ME: That is correct (Applause). Judaism around 1500 BCE, Christianity formalized around the year 100 CE (if not earlier), and Islam formalized around 630 CE. Nicely done. We will eliminate one mismatched car later. For now, here's question 2.
Each of the three major religions regards the city of Jerusalem as a holy city. I'll name three sites in Jerusalem. For each one, tell me which religion regards that as a holy site. Look at the screen.
A. Dome of the Rock B. Church of the Holy Sepulchre C. Western Wall
ME: Your answers, please, Lenny.

ME: All three are correct (Applause). That's two cars that we will eliminate. One more question.
Each of the three major religions has numerous divisions, or sects, within that faith. I'll name three sects and you match them to the religions. Look at the screen.
A. Coptic B. Shiite C. Hassidic
