(1978 CS Intro) ERIN HARRIS: Aces are high, deuces are low! Call it right, and win the dough...on Card Sharks! (1978 CS Theme) And now, here's the host of Card Sharks, Bill Skinner!I thank you very much, Erin Harris, and welcome to yet another edition of Card Sharks! We have our defending champion, mringgenberg, taking on koopakid17 as today's challenger. And you know how the game goes: You must try to guess a series of five cards correctly before your opponent does; if you do it successfully, you win the match, and it takes two wins to make it to the Money Cards round. And let's give a warm welcome to Amber Lancaster, who will be handling mringgenberg's cards for the day, and Tiffany Coyne, who will do the same for koopakid17. But first, before you can play the cards, you have to answer a series of questions, and as our returning champion, mringgenberg will get the first one. We asked 100 sports fans this question: "Are the five-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots the most hated team in all of pro sports?"How many of these people said yes?

Wouldn't surprise me. It has to be higher.

And koopakid17 says it's higher. ding! The actual number of people who said that the Patriots are the most hated team in all of pro sports is... ding-ding-ding!...53, so it is higher, and koopakid17 will play his cards first. What's the first card, Tiffany? (6 ♠) A 6! Now would you like to play that card, or change it?

|
|

Change it!
|
|
|
Post by Bill Skinner on Feb 7, 2017 12:16:35 GMT -5
And what do we change it to?
(5 ♣)
Well, I don't know how much that helps, but it's a 5. Is the next card higher or lower?

Higher than a 5?
(5 ♥)
buzz!
No, it's another 5, so mringgenberg will play his cards right now, and he cannot change the first one. What is it, Amber?
(9 ♣)
A 9. Is the next card higher or lower?

(J ♣)

Oh, wrong again, and both players will have their cards reset as we go into Question #2. koopakid17, we asked 100 people this question:
"Have you ever gotten in trouble for skipping classes at school?"
How many of those people said no?

I've never cut but i know a lot of my classmates from back in the day would have senior cut day. I'm sure sine of them have been punished so I'll say 30 of them have.

So koopakid17 says 30. ding!mringgenberg, is the actual number higher or lower than 30?

mringgenberg thinks it's higher than 30. ding! And the actual number of people who said that they've never gotten in trouble for skipping classes at school is... ding-ding-ding!...35, so it is higher, and mringgenberg, you will play your cards again. Now Amber, what's the new base card for mringgenberg? (A ♠) Wow, it's an Ace! Do you want to play the new card or change it?

Unless it's another Ace, you will get to keep on playing. Lower than an Ace?

As long as it's not a 2 or another 3, you will continue. Higher than a 3?
(Q ♣)

Post by Bill Skinner on Feb 8, 2017 9:39:50 GMT -5
And we'll freeze at the 7 and get into our third question of the round. mringgenberg, we asked 100 single people: "Do you get depressed when you realize that you won't have a date for Valentine's Day?"How many of those people said yes?
