(Evan rolls)(bust cue; audience groans) A quick grand followed by a quick bust. If I'm not mistaken, that was Evan's first bust of the match. Michael would love to get on the board right now as we start Round 6. Unless Michael banks exactly $2000, the catch-up round follows this round -- and this will be the last question of Game 2. Despite the fact it's produced one or two marriages -- and I don't think more than that -- "The Bachelor" is right. (audience applause)Take that free roll, please, Michael. (Michael rolls)And again that's normally a bust. But you can't bust on the free roll. So we seed a new pot with $700. Michael, again a note, if you bank exactly $2000, we play a tie-breaker question to decide this game. Otherwise, it comes down to the catch-up round. I think I know the answer -- but I must ask this. Bank the $700 or roll again? (audience shouts suggestions)

"Freezay"? I think that's Klingon for "I'll bank the money, Doug." (scattered laughter from the crowd) (ding) (tones sound)I knew what you meant -- drawing a certain line from a certain dice game host on a certain card game. In any event, we just heard the signal for the catch-up round. Evan, you get to roll the dice once. Michael, if necessary, you'll roll. No free rolls here and no pot to build. The value of the roll is immediately added to your bank. And, while it's still active, we reshuffle the double decision board. (amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles)Extra rolls are attached to two of the screens up there -- along with money. Another screen doubles your score. Since the 7 is still the bust roll, Evan, you'll need to roll more than a 7 or a double to stay in business. Anything else and Michael forces a tie-breaker game. Evan, please take your catch-up roll. (Evan, number from 1-100, please.)

(Evan rolls)(scattered applause) And it's an 8. You're still in the game with a total of $2800. (ding)Michael, your turn to take your free roll. If you roll a 7, it's a bust. You're not going to lose money -- but you won't gain anything and, furthermore, Evan wins the match. Roll anything else -- and you force a third and deciding game. When you're ready, Michael -- please take your free roll. (Michael, number from 1-100, please.)

(Michael rolls) (bust cue; audience groans) Oh no! A 7. I'm sorry, Michael; you lose the game! Evan wins the match! (dings; audience cheers) Congrat, Evan, you had to sweat out two catch-up rounds and you prevailed each time. Stand by, please, for another Bonus Bonanza -- and another try at more than $1,000,000. Michael, you played great. You just needed luckier rolls of the dice. Even though you didn't win a game in the match, you're taking home a nice piece of change. In the two games you played, you're taking home $5600 in cold hard cash. (audience cheers) You also have some fine gifts waiting for you backstage. Another nice hand for Michael Clifford. (audience cheers) Evan Hatfield, your all-time record continues to increase. It's now up to $138,600. (audience cheers) And when we come back, we'll see if Evan can bank more than a million in the Hot Dice Bonus Bonanza. Stay with us. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

(Doug in pre-recorded audio as contestant plug cue plays)Do you think you have what it takes to win the million? Call our Hot Dice contestant hotline at 1-800-555-DICE -- or visit TraxProductions.net/dice.(audience applauds) And we're back on Hot Dice. Evan, this is your fifth try at $1,000,000 in the Bonus Bonanza. We want to make some time for an audience game -- so that's why we're going to dive right into this. Please go ahead and take your free roll. (Evan, number from 1-100, please.)

(Evan rolls)(scattered applause)And good thing it's the free roll. Bonus Bonanza free roll is always worth $250 per point. So we start you off with $1750. Evan, as you're well aware of, the stakes are higher and so are the risks. There are three bust rolls in Bonus Bonanza instead of just one. A roll of a 5, 7 or 9 is a bust -- meaning you lose everything in the pot and the game's over. However, every safe roll now pays $500 per point. Our double decision is now active. Three screens hide different amounts of money ranging in value from $25,000 to $100,000. The other three hide busts. If you roll a double, decide to go to the board and find money, that much money is added to the pot -- and then we replace that amount with $1,000,000. (scattered cheers)But if you roll a double and find a bust with that double, that's also a loss of money and game. Because there are dangers throughout, we give you the two gold coins you earned in the match. Anytime you run into any bust situation, you must surrender a coin and roll again. Bust without gold coins -- and it's game over. Evan, if you'd like, you may stop here and take the $1750 in the pot -- or risk it and roll again. (audience shouts suggestions)

(Evan rolls)(doubles cue; audience cheers)Woah boy. Double decision time with boxcars. Evan, would you like for us to add $6000 to the pot... ...or go to the double 6 screen on the board. To reiterate, if you find money, we'll add that amount to the pot and then replace that amount on the board with $1,000,000; we'd then reshuffle the board. If there's a bust, you lose a coin and have to roll again. Think it over -- and tell me what your double decision is. (audience shouts suggestions)

(scattered woos) He's going to try the board. Instead of adding $6000 to the pot, do we had considerably more -- or do we take away a coin? (bells and sirens sound; audience cheers) TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! WOW! Evan, already $26,750 *and* two gold coins still to play with. Now, before we go any further, let's reveal the rest of the board for a moment. (FF reveal sfx) Wow, hundred grand's next door. Fifty large at snake eyes. But now, that 25 grand becomes... (ding) ...one million dollars. (scattered woos) We now shuffle everything on the board. (amounts are shuffled on the double decision board; after shuffling stops, the amounts are covered immediately with the doubles) Now -- Evan -- let's chat. You have a pot of $26,750 -- yours to bank or risk. You do have two gold coins to play with. However, you cannot use the coins to stop the game. So it is possible to roll three straight bust totals with the dice and lose everything in the pot. On the other hand, it's possible to roll the double that makes you a millionaire. So -- do you quit and take $26,750 -- or live a little and roll for the million? (audience shouts suggestions)

(audience cheers) (Evan rolls) (audience cheers) And -- safe roll. Evan, the 6 adds three large to the pot. Same situation as before -- just with 3000 extra dollars to think about. Want to stop now and bank nearly $30,000 -- or risk it all and roll again. (audience shouts suggestions)

(more cheers) (Evan rolls)(audience groans) And a 5. That's a bust roll here in the bonanza. That'll cost you a coin. Dice are coming back to you. Please roll again. (Evan rolls)(audience cheers) OK, the 4 is better than a bust. Evan, the good news is you have another $2000. The bad news -- you have less defense to play with if you keep going. Do you want to stop and bank $31,750 -- or keeping living a little and try to roll the double that leads to a million? (audience shouts suggestions)

(many cheer; some groan) Gonna bank the money. Some folks in the audience think you did the right thing. Others think you should've rolled on for the million. Evan, it is your decision and your money -- and get a load of how much money you now have. (ding) (audience cheers)$170,350. And -- you're still the champion. You still get to play another match. Win that match and you'll be back here rolling for the million. Now, Evan, you'll notice I have a floor director giving me the internationally recognized hand signals for "stretch". That means it's "What If?" time. If you were going to roll again, what would've happened. Roll the dice again please; this won't count. (Evan rolls)(scattered cheers) OK, well, that *would* be a bust but you still had a coin left. I'll go ahead and take it back. That would mean you'd have to roll again. Roll 'em one more time and we'll see what happens. (Evan rolls)(audience cheers)And *that* would've been the bust roll that would've seen nearly $32,000 go down the drain. You stopped at the right time, Evan. Well played. *One* more piece of unfinished business. Let's open up the double decision board and see what Evan needed to roll to win the million. (FF reveal sfx)Snake eyes. And you see where the other monies and busts were -- all arranged in some checkered fashion. Evan, we congratulate you on five match wins and $170,350. (audience cheers)We will find out on the next show whether you can repeat as champion and continue to add to this incredible total. But right after this, a lucky member of our studio audience will have a chance to win here on Hot Dice. Stay with us. (commercial cue plays; audience applauds)

OK, as we wind down this episode of Hot Dice, we do so with a quick game of... ...Winning Number. I'll tell you how -- but first, we need a player. We're in a bit of a time crunch -- so I'll bypass a qualifying question and simply ask this. Who wants to play? First one to respond gets to play.
